They're making moves for 2-3 years down the road when they'll have $100M+ in cap and a bunch of starters on rookie contracts.

That is the smart move, so why sign Teddy, and run a MUCH higher risk of lowering your draft haul and position?

We're going to end up losing all these valuable free agents/players and have no draft capital to show for it. Doesn't matter which one they are trying to do they are completely botching it either way.
