I’ve about had it with the good ole boy network. I don’t really give a damn how Tepper treats Cam or any other player. This is a business, not a slap me on the back and compliment my wife network. I have an insider source that stated Cam was told by the Panther doctors that he didn’t need surgery and could return this past year. That wasn’t good enough for Cam, so he got a second opinion, then had the surgery. If that is true, think about that for a minute. I actually would like some distance between the ownership and the players, keep it business and get rid of the cronyism style of management.

Lmao, you're dumb as hell. The Washington Panthers passed on Cam for Kyle Allen.

Ron and the offensive coaches like Turner and Wharton and Masko wanted Cam.  The coaches on the defensive side didn’t like him as a person and were adamant about not bringing in Cam....Sam Mills, Richard Rodgers, and Chris Harris.   It was a personality fit issue not Cam the player.

So the HC was outvoted by a couple of scrub assistants and the worst ST coach in the history of the NFL? GTFOHWTBS.

Got to have thick skin for posting a new topic here on the huddle. Forum is full of mouth breathers who are foaming at the chance to bash on posters and most run in groups.

Longtime employees at privately held companies/family businesses almost always push back when their company is acquired by a larger corporation. Typically they've been promoted internally without the formal education requirements needed for their current positions, and are often beneficiaries of cronyism themselves. It's not surprising to me that some longtime Panthers employees would be less than enthused about a regime change. The new regime will not be extending them the same perks/preferential treatment they received from their old ownership. People with skills that translate to the larger job market typically end up doing well after an acquisition, whether they are retained for performance or are able to get hired at another firm relatively quickly.

I would take any 'inside information' from a longtime Panthers employee with a mountain of salt.

I know Mills and the other two (not as much as Mills) were against it.   Do I think Ron values their opinions and wouldn’t cause friction?  Yes but if Ron really wanted him I think he would have pushed for it.   Maybe the owner didn’t want anyone threatening Haskins development.

Wow, we are going to be stuck in mediocrity?  Maybe it's years of alcohol consumption on my part, but the OP might care to let me know how the he11 that is any different than the last 15 years that I have been following this team?  Other than 2015, our motto has been "Commitment to Mediocrity."

Anyone who knows football at all knew Cam wasn't going to keep up his style of play behind 30 and he hasn't learned to play from the pocket which is why he is being replaced.

I think you can blame the Panthers because of that. Those goaline designed runs was not Cam's choice. The shitty Oline he played behind for the past few years were not his fault. Those no name WR's he played with were not his fault. He was forced to run because he didn't have help. Now that he has broken down it is his fault?

Cam deserves better, it's going to be funny when he bounces back with another franchise and the Panthers are a bottom feeder for the next few years.

Sam Mills III having a job in football is the definition of nepotism, along with Rodgers and Chris Harris. I highly doubt a couple of coaches that couldn't get hired by any other NFL team would have their opinions weighted so heavily, especially since they wouldn't even be coaching on the same side of the ball. I think whoever is feeding you this stuff is gassing you up.

Not true at all. Most of Cam's runs had options to hand off or run himself. He chose to run the ball himself. He always wanted the ball in his hands at crunch time. That made him a warrior but it destined him  to have a shortened career. Reminded me of Earl Campbell who would relish contact.

The media already putting the Panthers as one of the worst teams in the NFL next year. They discussing Cam and what will be his next destination. Not a word has been said about the Bridgewater signing. Get use to it folks the Panthers are back to being irrelevant again.

They have been irrelevant for that past 4 seasons so it’s nothing new.

RPO was part of the offense.lol

That's on the coaches for giving him the option to run. They ran him into the ground.
