This is a tough one, a good argument could be made for any of them.  I'll go with Cam because he played the most important position and at times carried the team to victory like no one other player could.

Peppers will be the only one in that group to be first ballot.

I think Smith was better at his position then the other 3 were at theirs, problem is Smith played a position that’s more depended on others. If Smith played on a pass first team with a good QB theirs no doubt in my mind he’s second to Jerry Rice in yards.

Disagree.
Luke will be I believe and fairly certain about it.

Could have, but that does not disqualify you from being a great player.  Brady could have played better a few years back and the Pats lost.

Agree ...but kicker never gets the designation greatest player on any team .. ever.
no reason to put him in the mix.

He also lost us the Super Bowl

Peppers will be more unanimous.

He is without a doubt the best player ever to play here fo most his career.

And to think he was just a physical freak but he didn’t have a love/passion for the game. Imagine how good he’d be with a Reggie white/Keuchly/ray Lewis type fire?

If he had that kind of passion for the game, he may well have proved to be the greatest player to ever play in the NFL.

If you are counting just how a player did as a Panther then Smith, Cam, and Luke were all the greatest at their position. But if you are talking about the Panther player who had the greatest career it would be Peppers who is already considered a lock as a first ballot HOFer.  He played for the Panthers, Bears, Packers and the Panthers again. Started and finished his illustrious career as a Panther.

Popularity wise he was too much of an introvert at least the first time around. Didn't come across well on the media.

    • Gustavsson would be insane. I think we would have to break the bank to afford that move. Which, I don't think is necessarily a bad idea. Ultimately, Freddie isn't likely to be around more than a couple of seasons more. We can all agree that unless they have a fleet of sports psychologists working on Kochetkov, he will never be capable of getting his head on straight enough to compete.
    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
