Could Jeudy or Lamb be the pick at #7?

Watched so much tape on lamb I’m so impressed !!! But who says we’re going to take Simmons or brown only ? The media ? Just something we are use to from our past with rivera as hc ? We have an offensive coach I wouldn’t knock out us from getting lamb , my question is why the heck not guy is insanely good but it’s a big wr draft with ruggs , Jefferson , jeudy , tee higgins as well going in the 1st . Lambs clearly my favorite and I would be furious to see a team outside the top 10 get him because this is one of the most talented drafts I have ever seen . Just hope we don’t mess this up by getting a dt or lb which ones no Aaron Donald and ones can’t even hold Luke’s jock strap idc about you Clemson boys it would be a big mistake taking that poor mans Shaq Thompson with the 7th lb is an old football position just like running back  . You can get solid value in later rounds , first round you need an all star we are at #7 get lamb !!!! He’s one solid player that will be our leading wr . If we are  rebuilding this team let’s go offensive heavy and save defense for next years draft . Get some play makers . Stop being so complacent no is is scared of Robby Anderson and dj Moore and most other fans barely know who Curtis Samuel is ! Get a star like Cee Dee lamb

None of this makes any sense, in more ways than one. I am fine with drafting WR in round 2, only if other starting positions have been addressed. Moore was top 10 in receiving yards last year and top 15 in receptions, according to ESPN stats. Now I'm not all about stats, but they can point to some indicators; compare Hopkins, Julio, and Adams rec/yards in their first two years to Moore's and see what you come up with.

This is just click bait. Kliff Kingsbury soon realized that you can't stay in 10 personnel in the NFL and be successful. We have DJ Moore and Curtis Samuel already on the roster. This offseason brought us Robby Anderson, Seth Roberts, and Pharoh Cooper (mainly as a return man). One of those guys is going to be off the field most of the game. The addition of a top WR would be criminal with the holes we have at DT, CB and NB.

i don't think so. We need to double down at WR honestly. Jeudy is generational talent. If you expect seven starters on defense out of the draft well then keep drinking.

Generational? A lot of evaluators and pundits don’t even have him at 1 anymore. I guarantee we don’t choose a WR.

Edit: also saw this after posting. Could be a smoke screen, I will admit.

Lamb is my #1 WR, he blocks and thats rare. I blame that on smitty.

Blindfold me. I take whoever I get between Lamb and Jeudy. Both are elite prospects.

Both are elite and there is no wrong answer. I just prefer Lamb. I will say judging Jeudy is a lot harder, since he is surrounded by other elite talents. Zero shock if Jeudy ends up the better player.

If we had a smart GM, we would start the smoke screen that we are heavily considering Jeudy, Lamb and the 3 OTs at 7.

Nothing drastic, but push the narrative that we are conducting video conferencing and that Brady could see the WRs thriving in his offense with Teddy B.

There will be a team like the Jets/Raiders/49ers that are eyeing one of these talents and we could trade back with in case Okudah and Simmons are gone.

After hearing the LAC email fiasco, and past practices with Hurney at the helm, we have not negotiated and leveraged ourselves as the alpha in deals. This kind of chatter given the climate of how fragmented this draft process will be with prospects, would go a long way as covering all bases leading up to the draft.

So the question is do you guys really believe we are capable competing with the people we have now plus a few rookies on defense? Seriously it baffles me how contradictory this forum is. If we as a collective prefer to tank then getting more talent for one side of the ball makes more sense right? If we stack the offense we can build a foundation. Then slowly but surely add to the defense through free agency the next year and the draft. If you guys don’t think we should get more skill positions then I now understand why this forum complains like it does. I’m not saying go WR at 7 for sure, it’s contingent on who’s there and how the board looks. If we don’t get another WR by the 3rd round then I feel like this rebuild will be a lot more frustrating than initially hoped. I prefer Mims Claypool or Aiyuk I’m the 2nd honestly or Tee Higgins if he sneaks to the 3rd but we do need a big bodied WR anyone saying other wise is lost.

    • His points are valid.  However, it seems a bit based on past performance and fails to take into consideration trends and conditions that might suggest growth in 2025.   For one, he breaks the team down by position and ranks them separately.  I guess that is a fair way to do it, but they are dependent upon each other. Last year, our DL sucked.  That impacts the rest of the defense.  With no internal pressure, the QBs simply step up to avoid the Edge rush.  I would have suggested that the internal DL is now featuring pass rushers and large people who can collapse the pocket.  Secondly, the LBs were not protected very well in 2024.  It is hard to see the holes and step up when a guard is in your earhole a second after the snap.  Finally, the defensive backs will be forced to make fewer tackles and they will be better in pass protection with a new and improved DL.    Canales made an interesting comment the other day, and I (from the outside looking in) feel the same way:  (paraphrasing) "I have never seen a better group of rookies."   I think the biggest concern is the learning curve.  How long before these rookies are ready?   I am bullish on this team.  I think they win 3 of their first 4 and get confident.  The get the fans behind them.  From there, they win 6 of the remaining 13.  If they stay injury free, they have an outside shot at the NFC south.
    • Biiiiiig eyeroll on this.  First, Look at historical stats of the most recent historical great DBs.  I plucked 3, Revis, Sherman, and Norman (cuzz he was our guy).  Combined post age 30, there are TWO pro bowls between those 3 and wanna get this...ZERO seasons with 16 games started.  ALL missed time.  It is RARE that Corners survive that long in the NFL and its about time we started recognizing this fact.  Jaycee is a good bet because it hasnt been anything seriously devastating injury wise, and with his sample size he could and should be an incredible piece for the panthers through age 30. Jaire kinda flops on the other side, hes 28...so hes under 30, but he wants his payday before it comes up, hes also been injury prone lately.  Bulk of the contract will be on opposite side of 30.  Will both of these guys help us be better in 2026?  SURE!  No doubt, but the question is, will these guys help us past 2026...not sure. The investment isnt worth the risk, nor would the ROI be anywhere close to worth it.  Neither guy is moving us from a 6-8 win team to a 8-10 team, period. My point is we're in this state a 6-8 win team IMO and he projects us as  a 4-6 win team.  EVEN if we think Jaire or Ramsey will make us a 6-8 win team, it in NO WAY is worth the money or capital to move that much just to suck kinda less.
    • I assumed he was retiring but apparently he plans on playing multiple more seasons.  Florida is gonna have trouble holding onto everyone.  Happens to all teams that have that much success.
