A lot of truth to this. No matter who you draft, there's a nearly guaranteed chance that in hindsight there was a better player available at the time.

Judging draft quality by something like that is pretty much useless.

You’d have to think the turnover margin at the QB position is much less frequent across the board though.

exactly, just because he is a 4 year starter doesnt mean he is good.  Just shows you Hurney or whoever never tried to upgrade, just said "eh, he is good enough"

I didn't mind early Hurney.  After the 2008 draft he took a bad hit of acid or something, because he started doing crazy stuff.

Yea, but a GM goes in the direction that the head coach wants to go, not the other way around.  I feel more is to blame on a coach than GM for that reason.

The Patriots, 23rd.  The point is some teams give marginal players more time because they feel obligated to hang on to their draft picks (Hurney).  Others acknowledge a bad pick, cut their loses and move on.

Owner in most cases.  GMs conduct the search and they work together to pick the Head Coach
