Thoughts on the other garbage NFC South team picks

Honestly, I didn't like the Saints pick. They have McCoy at C and he was a stud last year. They drafted Ruiz as a G to replace Peat. In that scenario, they reached a little bit. I think you could get a solid guard at the end of round 2 and get a higher value position in the 1st.

Falcons pick was awful.

Bucs knocked it out of the park, people were thinking Wirfs would go 4.

Not all that enthused watching all the OL talent going knowing how bad our OL will be this year. We are going to keep drafting D because our D was so, so bad and we lost some of our top guys (Luke and Bradberry). That said, I am not worried about this year. I hope we lose every game close so we develop the young guys and get Lawrence.

Saints offense line is going to be good.... again... Bucs were smart and got Brady protection. Not sure what the Falcons were doing...

I honestly don't think Terrell is a bad pick - it's just that he would have likely been around at the end of the 1st round. If they were smart, they would have traded down if that was the player they really wanted

If the Bucs keep Wirfs on the right side, they have something.  However, I think they try to move him to the left side (a side he's not played on) and struggles.

Brady could play left handed if he wanted. Hell he probably is left handed and hasn't told anyone yet a la Princess Bride.

Bucs look like legit contenders and Wirfs was an amazing pick.

Saints got the best interior lineman and that's a great pick.

The Falcons continue to rival the Panthers as the worst run team in the division

Terrell got TOASTED in the national championship. Legedu Naanee would eat his lunch.

Clemson likely wins the Natty if they had a legit corner.

Atlanta easily with the worst first round pick.  Clemson DBs never work out in the NFL.

Really... LSU's skill position players were probably the best on a team in the past decade (if not longer). I don't think 1 lockdown corner would have solved that problem

Terrell had a poo game, but by no means is he a bad player. With the run on CBs that happened, I don't think he would have made it to round 2. Pretty surprised Diggs didn't get drafted

    • That was always the fear, expectation, concern, etc, I had.  Someone showed a still shot from his pick last game and said it showed that the defender closed 3 yards on that ball in the last portion of its flight. I forget the number. 10 yards I think it said but that sounds extreme.  When guys are open by a step, any slowing down to wait for the ball lets the defender back into the play. That sort of stuff makes the margins so small… these NFL CBs are not slow.   It is a league that highly values foot speed; the 40 times and drill times are scrutinized down to the hundredth of a second when evaluating these players on both sides of the passing game. Receivers and defenders both.   My thing with his arm strength (or anyone’s) was always “why do you want to do that? Plus pay extra picks to put yourself in that situation?”. Asking for trouble.     I wish there was a way to measure velocity on the back half of a throw compared to when it left the hand. Or really get accurate reading of the flight time of a ball from the near hash to the sideline, 10 yards down the field. Because teams could use that info. I have always seen this as being a disadvantage with Bryce but it is beyond my ability to quantify it.   I think it would show what that arm strength is really about, a lot more than just measuring how much air can you put under it so it will fly as far as possible.
    • Who didn't see that coming....
    • Its a detriment if he can't play...as we are seeing.
