Is it down to New England or backup for Cam Newton?

What a wild offseason it has been. With the results of round one in the NFL draft, is it realistically down to New England as the only landing spot to be a starting QB for Cam Newton? Not in my wildest dreams would I think Cam would have to be a backup in 2020...what are your thoughts?

The Bears would be the only other logical spot that I could think of, but they seem fine where they are at this far.

Jacksonville? Maybe Fournette will keep pounding the table. After that lots of backup slots maybe a Tampa or Indy knowing they’ll need a starter in a year or two? Give him time to get healthy. Winston still out there too.

Honestly depends on how much $$$ he wants. There’s places like Jacksonville and Chicago where if given the chance he could beat out the meh competition.

And the Raiders make sense if they are truly ready to move on from Carr but want to generate some hype for the Vegas move.

I'm assuming the NFL isn't happening this season

Cowboys
Patriots

Since all of these teams have QBs with expiring contracts or an iffy situation right now.

They traded for Foles and have his huge contract.   They won’t sign Cam

Washington is a no go or they would have already made a play. Ron is not going to give up on the guy they just picked first a year ago and the owner disentangle seem to thrilled with that either. Raiders I could see, but they signed Marcus M, and seem content rolling with the two vets in place

Forgot about Washington. Haskins, but he could legitimately flop. Raiders as well although Carr was pretty good last year.

How about Atlanta for a couple years as a backup? Ryan’s contract has a bit of an out after 2021.

Chargers still make sense to me or Pats 

Chargers spent a high draft pick on a qb that isn’t ready yet. If he goes there he will have to play lights out before they pull the trigger, so he may feel less stress at NE

I'm saying Broncos are a dark horse. With the weapons they have now, I'd take my chances of winning with Cam rather than Lock.

I don't think trading a 5th rounder for Kyle Allen would negate them potentially signing Cam, especially if they've made the decision to part ways with Haskins.

I’m talking starting this upcoming season, which will happen even if it’s at empty stadiums. Jags are rolling with Minshew who is just coming off his rookie season, colts won’t cut Rivers after just signing him, Cowboys no way Dak goes anywhere this offseason
