Might have the most charismatic coach in the league. How anyone could think players wouldn’t want to play for him is beyond me. There’s something about him when he’s speaking that compels you to listen.

The thing about charisma and coaching success, wellll...

I know you're not establishing a direct link between the two, but still...

Not at all. I hope he’s successful but he certainly can fail. My only point was there were lots of people saying things like “grown men won’t want to play for this guy”

I’m not buying that. Hell, I want to play for him

I've heard that said about other college coaches before.

There are definitely coaches who do better with college kids than professional adults. I haven't seen anything that definitively tells me Matt Rhule is one of them yet.

Guess we will see. I feel pretty confident he will have the ability to rally a locker room. Even more confident this board will forever be negative in nearly any situation

That's relevant in college recruiting. In the NFL, despite what pending free agents might say about winning, etc. it's almost always the highest bidder who gets the prize.

I'm actually the most positive I have been in a while about the team.  We have seemed to be a rudderless ship for a long time, and while I don't fully agree with what we are doing, I at least see a plan...a path if you will.

Rhule's coaching persona is that of a motivator, as opposed to a tactician which is what Belichick would be.

You can win Super Bowls with a motivator type head coach. The Colts did with Tony Dungy (and Tampa came close) but you have to have tactician coaches on staff as the coordinators.

Rhule has Snow and Brady.

If they're good enough at what they do, then it'll make what he does a lot easier.

Yep it's essentially the Coach O model at LSU. Hell even the same OC. Except at the end of the day I think Rhule coaches circles around EddyO
