Chinn may have the best rookie year of drafted DBs..

Ouch. I didn't realize that Delpit ruptured his Achilles. The ACL gets all the attention, but the Achilles is a far more devastating injury to come back from. Most guys come back a shadow of their former selves. Trying to come back from that injury as a rookie... man, that sucks. I wasn't super high on him already, but his career may have been derailed before he ever really had a chance to show what he might be able to truly do at the NFL level.

Chinn needs to add another 15-20 lbs to be a LB. What is the obsession on having Chinn play LB? I don’t want a Haason Reddick 2.0? Chinn was drafted to play safety. Play the kid at safety and leave him alone!

Not an obsession, it's where he has been playing in camp.  We are good at safety, so playing him at LB this year in Shaqs role makes sense.

Did we forget Jeff Okudah was drafted?

AFAIK its not even known for sure Okudah will be Lions week 1 starter.  As of last Sunday there was still serious doubt if he'd be ready to start.

So for me, it’s still a little discouraging that Jeff Okudah hasn’t come out and at least made it perfectly clear he belongs above Amani Oruwariye and/or Desmond Trufant on the depth chart out the gate. Nothing against either of the other two, they just didn’t cost a third overall pick for their services.

Still … with the 2020 restrictions – not starting Week 1 would be a red flag, but not a real cause for concern, yet.

    • The good thing about replacing a bad player is you really have nothing to lose. If their replacement is bad so what, you didn't get much worse and probably saved money.
    • I came over from the old Panthers Insider site. When Fox Sports bought that platform it slowly just started dying plus the guy who ran that site was dealing with some pretty significant health issues so the whole thing just slowly fell apart. Quite a few of us migrated over here. Not sure how many are still around.  I miss that place. It struck a nice balance of having enough active posters to keep productive conversation flowing but didn't have so much traffic that you end up with a lot of trolling BS. This place is getting there though since we shutdown new registrations but at some point we're going to have to open it back up or we'll watch this place slowly die off too as posters fall off for one reason or another. We just have to figure out a way to filter out the spam bots. It was a never ending battle to ban the spam bots to keep then from overrunning the site. You'd think they'd be a little more strategic. I mean, if you fill a site with nothing but spam people are just going to stop coming so it's not a sustainable model. But nope, every one of them makes dozens of duplicate threads filling up pages upon pages as soon as their account goes live.
    • lol...I don't remember that.  Although recalling what I had for breakfast yesterday is sometimes a challenge.  Hope it was a positive thing.
