Brady coach-speak, or Samuel to be more involved

Not really. He may know how to maximize a receiver's talent, and we all know that he's very much cognizant of what I'll refer to as the prime time-depriciation balance, but I am loath to say that he has taken turds and polished them, only for them to turn back into a turf at the stroke of midnight. Belichick just maximizes talent and time better than most.

I mean he turned Brandon LaFell into a decent player. Although he did have a pretty good first season in Cincy once he left NE. He also took Randy Moss when most of the league was saying he was washed up and had the most productive three year stretch of his entire career in his 30's there.

I think he just excels at recognizing talent that he can utilize and maximize. He always has. Or maybe he just teaches them to cheat at an All-Pro level....probably a little of both.

I'm all in on the Curtis Samuel hype train for this week.   I mean, I've pretty much been committed to this wagon from the jump of the season.  Looking forward to Samuel's 150 yard day w/ 2 TDs.   Prepare to eat crow haters!  This is Samuel's moment of glory!

I've seen him used much more effectively in the past! There is a disconnect with Samuel and efficiency within Brady's offense as far as I'm concerned. Slot receivers play decent roles in today's NFL, and we already saw the stat earlier this year about Samuel's ability to create separation.

Brady obviously knows there is an issue, or he wouldn't have brought it up.

My initial thought was that Samuel could take some of CMC's receptions, but CMC hasn't had a huge impact in the slot. Just 7 catches on 9 attempts for 67 yards... in 2 games.

If he shines like that running the ball, I don't want to see him back full time at receiver again. We can close out that experiment and turn him into a utility player. If that will make him finally am impact player, that's what we need to do.

I'm going a 50/50 split on the yardage.  I can only be so bold.

He is a high second round pick...it’s time to use him. You don’t invest that on a gadget player. He’s shown flashes. Throw him in the fire already and let him sink or swim, this is the best season for it.

Luckily this is the last year on his deal. If it doesn't work out, we can walk away scot free.

He's the third most targeted player on our team and 4th in total touches. Not sure I would agree he "isn't being utilized." He's been more efficient on the ground than he has been catching the ball through two games.

Mike Davis made a bigger impact in just one game than Curtis has in two games.

Hard to compare a guy who comes directly out of the back field and plays vs a guy who is the 4 option on a team in effectiveness. Samuel comes in behind cmc Moore and Anderson in terms of the pecking order. With cmc down of course his utilization should see an uptick.

I most certainly think hes a better player than davis and we should see that this Sunday...

Samuel was always a bad pick for us largely because CMC was drafted by us.  So we could never actually use him he really should be.  We had someone that could do it all better and that virtually never left the field.

Harvin played w/ AP.  A nearly one dimensional rusher.  So there was opportunity for Harvin to be the swiss army knife.  Which is Samuel.

Ted Ginn Jr runs the vertical route as good as any one in the NFL.  Just a 50/50 if he can could catch it.   Samuel while fast, doesn't really do what Ginn did IMO.

Yep. Gettleman had an issue with spending premium picks on redundancies. KB/Funchess, CMC/Samuel. The latter in each pairing was basically a poor man's version of the former and we spent 2nd round picks on the poor man's versions. Meanwhile, we've never shown much of a commitment to building a legit NFL caliber OL.

Well Mike Davis made an instant impact in his first real action for us. Samuel has been here for 3+ years and has had pretty hit or miss impact.

We'll see what happens Sunday. If he doesn't flash with CMC out, I think his excuses will have finally run out. Especially when we have a QB that is putting up as many yards as Teddy has been.
