Through 3 games Jeremy Chinn looks like he could be a star.

Through three games, I'd say our defense is still trying to find an identity, very inconsistent. There have been some bright spots here and there and one of them is Jeremy Chinn... This kid is all over the field getting in on plays. The one play today where he recognized the screen, came in and made the play shows his football IQ. I think Chinn has the potential to be big time play maker on defense.

it was looking like we were going to have to retool the entire defensive backfield next year at one point, so it's a pleasant surprise to find we may have a solid player there.

FS will always be shaky as long as tre boston is playing but throw a good starter or two at CB and suddenly that unit is looking real nice.

Boston was really solid today. Hopefully he can keep it up, we’ll need him to on this contract Hurney gave him....

also get some actual linebackers on this team and chinn won't have to flex into the middle of the field and expose the defense to burress or whoever the fug they're sticking back there

Luke would fit in really well with this group, it’s a bummer he hung up the cleats but I respect the decision, especially with the concussions. But yeah either way we need to replace Whitehead ASAP. Shaq is fine for now but overpaid and should be upgraded eventually if we can.

I'm not gonna give up on Shaq yet. He doesn't cost us games though his coverage can absolutely be better. At times he flashes and he tackling has improved year after year. At worst hes a solid, average starting LB.

That said we absolutely need to improve our LB core. Chinn is a great building block. Brown looked great today. Spider Burns makes me erect. DJax flashed today and Pride had very solid man coverage on Keenan Allen. Lot to like today with this defense.

shaq is overpaid but untradable. replace MLB and OLB if we're sticking with a 4-3 and that defense is instantly legit, especially if we're adding a piece or two in the secondary.

he can be suspect in coverage at times but he's a playmaker and always around the ball. he's absolutely an asset to the team

    • That was when it looked like they decided to run clock, but not all of them realized it was a close catch. That’s honestly on Bryce and JT. they’re both the ones who saw the catch was close and they need to be aware it might get reviewed.  im not sure it would have mattered since it was a booth review but neither the qb or receiver played their part there.  XL just making these works incidentally was just a cherry on the pie.
    • Accepting defeat is not an attribute that’s relevant to a fan. Player maybe, yeah I think they wanna win. but as a fan this product ain’t good enough to be Atlanta from my observations we can’t stop the run, and we can’t score. They run the ball well. And get the ball out quick just not a good match up
    • This.  It seems like the front office is far more interested in coming up with a "find" than fielding a winning team.  As a result, they are getting talked about a good bit - just not the way they want. I still say to take the top draft guides and rank the players 1-275.  Then send in a ball boy, equipment manager or cheerleader to pick the highest player left on the board.  If this was our process, we'd be way ahead on our rebuild. Instead, we get these mystery picks with 31 other GM's/coaches scratching their heads while they do their jobs.  For proof I offer XL, DJ Johnson, Trevin Wallace, Jonatha Mingo, etc. The only "benefit" we get is UDFA's coming in and beating out the mystery picks.
