You seem to be changing the topic which was where to find a franchise QB.  Trying to do it with #1 doesn't seem to work well when you  just look at the league. Do you want Baker Mayfield, Kyler Murray, Jared Goff,  or Mahomes, Wilson, Drew Brees, Watson, Rodgers.

You want the team to suck in order to throw all your hopes in to one basket. Then you want that hope to turn out and then you want to then start building a team around them. That's a whole lot of wasted time and hope.

Nick Foles had a 57mph ball velocity measured at the Combine. Cam's was 56mph.

Where did the panthers pick our best qb in franchize history? Panthers late qb picks dont look as nice. You want Grier, Edwards, Clausen, Pike?

It's like we are back in the 90's with this pocket passer stereotype thing and didn't see all the greats of the last decade with less than cannon arms.  Interestingly Deshaun Watson has one of the lowest measured ball speeds in last 12 years . I don't think anyone would belittle him.

Foles has been in offenses that do not seem to emphasize an extreme vertical game, but he has the arm strength to go deep.

Ball velocity is just a small part of a deep ball passing game. Nobody claimed Andy Dalton was some strong armed deep ball threat but he had the same velocity as Cam I believe.

To be fair, Watson has looked average so far this season after they parted ways with DeAndre Hopkins who is currently leading the NFL in receiving yardage. Time will tell, but I think the Texans may end up deeply regretting both of those decisions - those decisions being making Watson the 2nd highest paid QB in the league and trading Hopkins.
