I don't think Snow is to blame, but I gotta admit, this is actually the perfect gif to describe our defense.

Kudos.  We try our best, but it's always too much for us to overcome.

Nah I've seen enough of snow. the dude is college through and through. He's Rhules main guy so Rhule should make him senior advisor or some special title and allow snow to still be a part of this team but he needs to get a quality NFL DC in that can call the plays and feel the game better next season.

No doubt he has a lot of deficiencies to mask, but man, some of these calls were inexcusable.  The personnel is the biggest issue by far, but playing 20 yards off the LOS on a 3rd and 19 while rushing 3 is equally bad.

Perfect calls with awful players are going to look bad. We have a talent deficit at really key positions on defense.

It's not Snows fault that his only talent to work with are rookies, an overpaid decent LB, and Brian Burns. Seriously, no one would be able to field a decent D with this roster. I'm just encouraged that it looks like we have some building blocks to work with going forward. Anytime the majorities of your talent is rookies and a 2nd year player it's not gonna be good.

I agree.  He has almost nothing to work with.  But, again, some of the calls were just bad.  I know most of these guys are not going to be back next year...  in fact, most of them probably won't even be in the NFL.  I give Snow the benefit of the doubt going into next season, regardless.  This season isn't on him, but man it's hard to watch...  forcing 1 punt in 4 weeks, or whatever it is, is just horrible.

And I really, really, really hope they bench Boston and Whitehead the rest of the year.  It's fine if they're good in the locker room, but they suck on the field.

They absolutely need to be benched. At this point I don't even care if the guys behind them are even worse. Hell, give them a chance and see if they're gamers. It's gonna be hard to be worse.

Posters scream for us to get more aggressive then scream when we give up a 98 yard TD because we tried to be aggressive. When your last line of defense is completely unreliable it pretty much takes away your ability to be aggressive.

To be fair LG, that was on Boston, but it didn't appear we were being overly aggressive.  I'd have to go back and watch, but it looked like they came out in a heavy/goalline set and qe matched personnel...  as a result, we were overloaded on the line and had the box stacked bc no one was wide.  We simply just didn't have good gap discipline and then Boston was Boston.

EDIT: I stand corrected.  Just started watching Rhule's presser and he said we blitzed from the right, but one of the guys to didnt fill their gap and that's what busted the run open.  So we were playing it aggressive.

    • I see Bryce's development this way: He improved when his supporting cast improved.  TMac and Dowdle saved his arse last year, but in fairness, most good QBs have good WRs and good RBs--and good OLs.   The 2025 OL underperformed, actually. They were above average, but they should have been elite if you consider the salary cap.   As soon as we signed Lewis and Hunt, I started thinking, "That's not sustainable.  With Ickey about to get paid a LT salary, Moton and Hunt grabbling $50m per season combined, and Lewis around $17m--that would be nearly $100m and the Center just walked.  Yikes.  What does that mean?  Rico walks, Mays walks, and we do not have a top 5 WR on a second contract.  We do not have an elite TE, and only 1 is on a modest second contract. And now Bryce will demand $50m for his incremental rise to mediocrity?   So when we sign Bryce, we will get weaker at other positions.  Hunt, Moton, maybe Ickey and Lewis, will all be casualties--that is the right move regardless (not sure yet about Ickey, but he was not elite) Bryce is one lucky, entitled camper.  No competition since being drafted, and he lost his job for a while to the aging clipboard holder.  Now we are bringing in UDFAs and busts to compete with him.
    • Probably not.  If we are taking a QB, it would be a prospect to replace Bryce and not a flyer type player.  I can't say for sure, but I doubt he would have cracked the top 3-4 QBs even if he were to play this coming season.
    • The Giants, Cardinals  and Dolphins should have moved on, but they didn't and ended up cutting their QB early into a monster second contract and had to eat a TON of dead cap money.
