I don't see the problem as the offense not being catered to him.

I see the problem being that he's an XFL quality quarterback trying to play in the NFL.

And seriously, if we have to adjust the system in order to make it possible for him to play in it, why do we have him?

well, you generally do adjust for your QB when they are going to make a start.  Cam Newton making a start last year vs Will Grier.   What we did on offense was tailored to who was playing QB.

PJ Walker isn't Teddy.  They have different strengths and weaknesses.

I still see no issue getting one legit look at Walker given we had no preseason.   We need to know what do this offseason.

Is there some compelling reason why we have to find out what PJ Walker can do right now?

Do you think the rest of the league is gonna be trying to poach him from us this offseason or something?

I suspect if we really want to evaluate Walker, we can take all the time we want. Nobody else is gonna be especially interested. Truth be told, this is probably his last chance at sticking somewhere in the NFL.

Heck, if there's any urgency to "see what we have in our investment" it's in the guy that we spent a third round draft pick on, though I'm not so sure we have a super accelerated timetable on that front either.

I'm not advocating starting him over Teddy lol.

If my choice is Walker or Grier because Teddy can't go....  yeah, one game w/ PJ.  That isn't being some huge PJ advocate if that is the scenario we are discussing.   Makes no sense not to see what he actually has if the opportunity is there.     Rhule could end up keeping a guy we clearly don't need as our #2 next year.   Better to have that question clearly answered IMO if the opportunity is there to get it.

Cam is sucking--they are running the ball and he is in the 150 yards per game category.  He wanted $30m per to play here--playing on a 1-year deal in NE for much less. Cam will be somewhere else next season, and then maybe he will retire.  He can't throw like he did, his timing and reads are off. So he is starting for a losing team in a bad division.  So what?

When they actually let Cam pass he hasn’t

been bad. Some of his passes have been pretty, thread-the-needle passes. Classic Cam. Also look at who he is throwing to. It is worse than 2017!

I don't really think that's as big a question as you believe it is.

Again, if you really need to "see what somebody has", it should be the guy we have more of an investment in, not the guy we can have anytime we wish because nobody else is signing him.

Cam's WR corps is absolutely non existent. J. Meyers from NCSU is starting to be Cam's favorite target.  Prior to Meyer is was our cast-off D. Byrd.  Burkhead probably has more receptions than anyone on that staff.

I wanted so badly for us to see Cam with our group.

Well, I'd argue you are attempting to frame it as a bigger dealt than I am.

I'm merely stating if Teddy cant' go we should look at what the QB Rhule deems as the 2nd best on the roster first.

I'm going by your own logic.

And who's number two is hard to say. Rhule stated at the beginning of the season that he was going to be flip-flopping backup QBs. Never cared for that strategy much, nor the notion that it was affected by McCaffrey.

What's to be gained? Behind this line, I really don't think we'd learn much. I don't think either Grier or PJ would come out and light up the scoreboard. And once you're rotating in your second and third string QBs in a losing season, your players won't exactly be playing their hearts out. So we'll be left asking the same questions we did at the end of last season.

Does the QB suck, or does the rest of the team suck around them?

And once again, we'll be stuck without an answer.

well, Rhule just took over.  This is a rebuild.  This frankly is still the audition phase IMO.....so unless your CMC....you can't really afford to just go through the motions.   I don't see players playing less hard because Teddy ain't out there.

I don't think CMC has caught a ball in his entire career that was as far down the field as Rex Burkhead on Sunday

I keep hearing CMC is a dual threat .. every ball he catches is within 5 yards of the LOS

I'm pretty sure you don't watch our games.

You're probably better off to just admit that, because if you do, you don't seem to have any idea what you're watching.
