Holy crap...

Patricia is one in a long line of Pats assistants who has flopped as a HC.  Let's put it this way: I think Bill O'Brien has been the big success story.

Vrabel looks like the real thing, Flores may pan out, but the rest range between mediocre to putrid.

It is one of several reasons I didn't want McDaniels.  The coaching tree dies anywhere but at the trunk.  McDaniels first effort in Denver was consistent with the results of the rest of them.  Maybe it was immaturity, maybe inevitability, but I'm glad the world is not finding out on Tepper's dime.

This week's game was not on here, so I followed it online as best as I could.  A shutout is a big deal, especially for this defense.  You have to be able to beat the teams you should beat.  They did that today, and have all year, with the exception of the second Atlanta game.  They have two more against teams they "should" beat and one against a team they "could."

But give the Panthers credit, after a stinker of their own they put a beating on a team that deserved a beating (by the way they played).

Eventually they will start winning a few against teams they shouldn't.

The defense played with intensity today. Thank Shaq for lighting a fire and Snow actually scheming like a legitimate defensive coordinator today. It helped that Stafford was hurt. You could see we gained confidence as we went along.

It was good that Detroit was so bad that the redzone interceptions didn't hurt us. PJ really looked green out there and missed obvious opportunities . Hopefully film with really help him.

Well, I don't think I'd see this one as face saving.

Patricia has been legitimately bad his entire time coaching the Lions. Today was a crescendo to a three year symphony of crap.

Being shutout by a team that was predicted to go winless is devastating.  Sprinkle in the starting Qb and star running back were out adds insult to injury.  Almost like asking the most unattractive girl out and being turned down...with your friends watching.  Patricia is filling out his resume as we speak.

The one thing that makes me question what happens next with Patricia is that the Lion's GM is an old Patriots buddy, Bob Quinn.

Mind you, Quinn has been there two years longer and dumped Jim Caldwell in order to hire Patricia, so it'd be no great shock if he gets the heave ho as well.

All due respect to our guys, but good grief the Lions were absolute horse sh-t today.

I've been watching football for near fifty years, and it's no exaggeration to say that was one of the worst performances I've ever watched. Reminded me of the early seasons in Tampa it was so bad.

Offense, defense, special teams, coaching...all of it. Gotta imagine if I were a Lions fan, I'd probably be vomiting right now.

If they fire Patricia tomorrow, it'll be deserved.

They probably won't fire him this week considering they have a game in 4 days, but yes that was a team actively trying to lose.

Lining up offsides on 4th and 2 to seal the game - that's intentional.
