Trent Scott

He's not as talented or athletic as you'd want in a starting left tackle, but he's got some experience and plays with really solid technique.

Chris Spielman talked a lot yesterday about how Everson Griffen was trying to set him up for a pass rush move and he wasn't taking the bait. That's smart football, and you love having that kind of intelligence in a left tackle.

He might not be a long term solution, but it was a whole lot better than watching Greg Little stand out there looking like he didn't have a clue what he was doing.

Scott is everything you could ask from a backup. We still don't have a long term answer which is just another year.

Schofield did a half decent job in place of John Miller yesterday. Again, I hesitate to place too much creedence on that because it was against the Lions, but hey...

I feel like we might have a couple of decent depth pieces.

I just wish we had better starters in front of those depth guys.

Here's to hoping we resign Moton, and keep Scott as a real good backup. Couple that with Daley getting more time and for the love of god, find a decent (not even good just better) center and we will be light years better on the line. I know Tackle is the sexiest part of the line because of price, but our middle has been absolutely atrocious this year. I cant remember the middle ever looking as bad as it has. Chris Reed is the Hurney of lineman in my book.

I thought the line looked solid until Daley left and then it got dicy. Maybe Schofield looked a little better next to Moton? Not sure, think I remember him getting beat a few times.

I'm completely with you, our starters need to be better going forward. This unit is a mess.

You spend way too much time concerned with things that didn't happen.

Anytime we acknowledge how good of a pick CMC was, we have to make sure we add the caveat every single time that Gettleman tried trading up for Fournette in that draft, in order to discredit it.  That's the equivalent of "Good thing Burns was there or else we would have drafted Greg Little with our first!!".

Daley's got a concussion. Wouldn't put too much faith in being able to rely on him for the future.

He's good, but I don't think his body is going to hold up.

    • OL then RB would make heads explode but its might not be too unlikely
    • Wonder if we draft a RB. Seems like a lot of eggs in Brooks’ basket right now.  And the OL, no kidding. If that running game goes to hell with what we have at QB, you can forget competing. It is so much more important than sticking another wideout on the field. Take your wideout later.
    • I have lots of different thoughts on it. This argument, the primary thing is I don’t like seeing him or anyone, being convicted on hearsay and/or pure speculation. Which some are doing.  I don’t care That much about defending Morgan as I do about the criticism being fair minded.    You sort of assert that Dan was just a yes man. I don’t think we know if he ever pushed back against Fitterer but I have this instinct thing that needs me to satisfy the question of: if Tepper was so down on a Fitterer as to fire him, why in the world would he hire his carbon copy? I guess maybe he wanted a yes man.Like I said, lots of different thoughts.     I am just not gonna judge him that harshly based only on speculation. I am sticking with what he has done starting when he was hired as GM. Maybe I am more lenient because the first season for him and Canales, I gave both a pass. Said I would judge them after the first year. Stuck to it. If you can get to the reality that neither were ready for the job and say okay give them a year get their feet wet, it looks a lot better.    And we are not bound to Bryce yet. Yes, for yet another fuging year he can probably marginally improve and slide by like he has been doing. But if they add even more people and he regresses? I think we could see some relief.    The QB room? As I understand it, Pickett was Canales’ choice. If we need to blame people for poo. In a sense, he is very Bryce like. So makes a good plug in. I get that a little bit. We still have the draft. If they do better than Jake Plummer or Hooker I’ll know they are trying.
