Most of the commentary I've seen about this is that the issue lay with the fact they secondary all bit on double moves and that should be an obvious thing you never do in that situation. Basically they should have completely ignored that possibility and that should be engrained in them for those situations.

can you imagine running double moves on a hail mary?  Did they know what the jets would do?

Doesn't seem like Gase is up for taking the blame though.

Even though he made these comments just a week ago:

Jets coach Adam Gase said the team's play-calling is being labeled a "collaborative effort" because he doesn't want to give away too much information for a "competitive disadvantage."

The Jets had been sending blitzes nearly the entire game. The might have suspected a blitz. The killer was that in all that wide open space they had man coverage. WRs are faster than CBs, so the WRs getting open was a given, and there was no help. What you do there is rush 3 and send everybody else back, a tackle outside the endzone ends the game, or a batted ball in the endzone, or incomplete pass and it's over. The Jets sent the house, so if the QB get's the ball out a TD had a decent chance of happening.

Didn't they have an undrafted rookie out there?  Tough spot to put him in.

Also...suspect Williams already was not popular with the players.

If they are going to leave him out there probably should have come with some strong direction on the play for sure.

The manner in which the Jets lost that game yesterday, though....

Last play of the game, you know a hail mary is coming and you decide to send the entire house and leave your corners by themselves on the outside in man coverage against faster WRs....

He should have been fired before he got to the locker room.

He just may have been...

Jets didn't make him available to the media after the game --- possibly because he was no longer employed?

Reminds me of when Lane Kiffen was fired on the airport tarmac by Pat Haden....LOL.

Jets are in the same boat as the Bobcats locally --- until ownership changes they will never have any meaningful success.

The Jets HC went and asked him why he called that coverage after the game. The DC said that pressure was working well most of the game and that is why.
