Jets fire...

Mr. Scot

going into work each morning I listen to the DA Show on CBS sports radio.  They discussed a theory that Williams did this as a signature move to impress teams for his next coaching gig, be it a DC or other coaching gig...end the game with an exclamation point sack, to give the Jets their only win.

Makes sense.  he knows he's out anyway, so leave an impression of "that's what I can do with better players."  They noted he's always been about himself.  It was an interesting discussion.

Of course, hilarity ensued.

That's not at all hard to believe given Gregg Williams persona.

If I recall correctly, earlier this season Williams kind of threw the people on the offensive side of the ball under the bus.

His personality was a large part of the discussion.

Lord knows we saw plenty of that back during the Saints bounty scandal.

It's still amazes me that Williams was  allowed to coach in the NFL again. If anybody deserved a permanent ban, he was the guy.

That would be right up there with the Syracuse QB spiking the ball on 4th down....

The Jets spent less on their defense than we did this season, so being aggressive is a good idea. I liked what they were doing up to that point, but that last call was stunning. Ruggs is short and greased lighting fast so can't have him running wild with one poor soul trying to keep up.
