How much you willing to trade for a QB

I wouldn't trade up for a QB in this Draft. Our roster isn't in any sort of shape to compete for titles - we can't afford to sacrifice Draft capital.

If any of Fields, Wilson or Lance fall to #8 I'd consider them. If a team offered to trade for our #8 pick I'd consider that too.

In terms of trading - I'd be curious to see what the going rate for Carr and Stafford was - if it's a Day 3 pick I'd be interested. We're only committed to Bridgewater for another year.

Failing that I'd consider late round QBs in this Draft.

Wait....you wouldn't trade for a young QB but you'd trade to have two starting QB salaries on the roster??

Well if we could trade up from #8 to #3 using a 4th round pick, sure.

As that's not possible, no.

And yes, I'd eat the Bridgewater salary if we could acquire an upgrade.

In terms of what we would have to give to acquire him...say a couple of future first rounders.  That's what I meant.

I am not entirely clear on the scenario. Are you talking about a draft trade up for a very good prospect or a trade for an established NFL QB?

Yeah, Joe Brady has had a lot of head scratching calls this season. While Snow seemed to improve as the year went on, I didn't see the consistent improvement with the offensive playcalling.

I'd say some of the hype train on Brady has slowed down.

You think Snow improved? His prevent zone defense was awful yesterday like usual and let Brees dissect us again. We were awful most of the year when we didn't pressure the ball and the game against NO just put an exclamation point on it as well. BTW, the offense was pretty bad as well.

Houston losing yesterday was actually probably better for us.

It’s possible Miami is willing to trade out of that spot for a QB needy team versus Atlanta who never would’ve traded out and especially not with us.

If we sit at 8, I think it’ll be between Surtain/Horn or Lance. Couple other names like Rousseau, Slater and Chase could be in play too. However, Tepper specifically mentioned QB and CB as the teams needs.

You could make a case for 6/7 teams in front of us that they should draft a QB. Tua didn’t look good this season when he was on the field.

I think if they fall in love with one of the QB’s they do what it takes to move up

Tua had his ups and downs no doubt, but that isn't nearly all on him. He didn't play in a game for over a year, had no rookie camp and no offseason due to his recovery and covid. When he did play, he was thrown into a playoff race as a rookie with a terrible set of weapons, maybe the worst set of weapons in the NFL, and playing on a terrible scheme fit for him. Tua's skill set compares to Drew Brees. He needs weapons and a system scheme similar to what Brees has. There is a media driven false narrative about Fitzmagic playing so well.

There is no reason to get a guy like Stafford. He is injury prone and we don't have a line that can remotely protect him. Especially when we are gonna tote a huge cap hit(which isn't going to happen anyway) for two QB's.

That would be a worse idea and worse for the future than gambling on a young QB and overpaying.

You are taking one data point. Look at the first 8 games and the last 8 games. The improvement on the defense was very obvious(especially with QB pressure).

I understand that you don't like Snow but don't let your bias make you simply gloss over the actual improvements that the defense made.

Doesn't mean we were a very good defense but we weren't terrible and far, far, far better than last year.

An established veteran QB in my scenario.  Both trade ups have been discussed, but I'm against trading up in the draft OR trading for a veteran guy. Why trade for another mediocre veteran QB and a top tier guy won't be had for less than a kings ransom...that's even if we can find a team is even willing to listen to offers?

Trading for a quality QB is almost an impossibility in the NFL. You really are trading for damaged goods guys. Like Wentz for instance. Or perhaps even Darnold if the Jets opt to move on from him.

So, those trades CAN make sense depending on the price and depending on what your evaluation of him is. Let's just hope it is a better evaluation than the one that transpired the previous offseason......

I think he needs to get off the sidelines and get up in the coach's booth. It's what the experienced OCs do. As has been pointed out before, this isn't taking on Old Dominion or Yale every other week. This is the NFL where you're facing a top 10 college team every danged week.

He may be a genius, but he's going to need some seasoning. Hope to see improvement next season from him.

isn't it telling that he felt he needed to be down on the sideline though?  Every time they showed Teddy off the field he was sitting with Brady looking at the tablet.....it screamed to me that Teddy wasn't all that great in recognizing defenses and possibly not seeing his receivers come free.

Just my .02 cents
