That's one thing that makes it so hard to really get involved with this team. I wish they would commit to core players long term.

His postgame interview after the triple double was top 5 trending on YouTube. I don’t remember the last time anyone brought the hornets that much attention.

I don't think it's ever happened.

It was the right move in the end because we ended up with Lamelo who is a much better player to build around and makes the franchise relevant like Kemba never could. I like Kemba, but he wasn’t bringing big stars or championships here, we were basically just looking at perennial low seed playoff teams. Lamelo will be different I think.

I think with Melo and Hayward, two talents who pass, it will attract big men. The problem is there aren't any decent ones available this off season.  Do not like Drummond on this team.  Jarrett Allen is restricted, but better fit. So with our cap space and maybe tradable assets we could look at deadline if we are in playoff hunt. Franchise is both relevant and up and coming right now. Exciting times.

So essentially our CORE is:
PG (Ball)
SG (Terry)
SF (Hayward)
PF (Washington)
3&D Wing off the bench (Miles)

Graham is interesting because seems to be the guy JB trusts the most to run the offense but his shooting % has been bad this year (ticking up over the past few games though).. sad that Monk can't get minutes - especially cus I don't think either Martin is that valuable.. the biggest problem is our defense and we NEED to find a rotation of Bigs we can trust because even though Biz has been solid for us with Zeller hurt - those two are not good enough for a playoff team.. we need a rim protector/rebounder..

MJ needs to sit back and let this team build thru its young core but he would never let that happen. I like Hayward and he is playing well but I wished that we hadn’t made the signing. I think this team would be better long term getting another high pick in 2021 with someone like Mobley or Green to go along with Ball, Miles and PJ.

I don't understand this thinking about not signing someone like Hayward.  It sounds like a trust the process mentality that hasn't worked.  Hornets draft and develop for 3 or 4 years and you will see the good ones jump first chance.  A 3 or 4 year contract for a legit all star type like Hayward is huge.  Slight overpay per reports, sucked to stretch Batum.  But Hayward is everything Hornets need these next 3 or 4 years. He chose a non destination for all star caliber players.  Team is Leading league in assists, 8th seed right now, and all the young guys are flourishing in their roles. The team can still get solid youth in the door.

I still think we need to keep an eye on Baynes.  When can he be moved? March since he just signed? He has lost his starting role in Toronto and was a DNP-CD recently.

The team is leading in assists because of Lamelo. I like Hayward but I rather build a young team. Signings veterans players to big contracts have not been a positive here in Charlotte. Hayward has been playing well. Just my opinion.

Hayward was a solid signing regardless. He is helping with LaMelo, and all the young guys. I respect that opinion, but we can still get younger and better through the Draft.

    • Hornets lead down to 16 early in the third.   Derrick White is single handedly keeping the Celtics in this game.
    • Looks like Miller is definitely grabbing his wrist out there.
