Pederson fired by Eagles

According to my Eagles fan buddy, Lurie wanted Pederson to blow up his staff and target hot commodity external candidates and Pederson wasn't willing to do it.

Heard that.

Still, how bad do things have to be for you to get fired just three years after winning it all?

Would anyone like to take a look at Pederson as an OC if Brady is hired away from us?  Obviously he's radioactive as a HC candidate at the moment.  And yes, he's going to have to answer THE question in future interviews with whomever his trying to get a job with.

Him calling plays was one the reasons the Eagles are where they are. I dunno if it's because he hated Wentz or what but he never put players in position to succeed.

You'd think he'd be untouchable, but word is that an old friend might give him a lift.

Jets GM Joe Douglas knows Pederson from his time with the Eagles. There's talk Douglas might reach out to him about their head coaching job.

Just three years ago the Eagles won the Super Bowl.

Now their head coach is fired.

Good grief!

Makes one wonder whether the Eagles won more because of Pederson or despite him.

Regardless, one would think bringing the Lombardi to Philadelphia would've given him a much longer leash.

He's very concerned that this is going to lead the Eagles to be a not so eagerly sought after landing spot for candidates with other options. His concerns might be well founded.

Lots of speculation that Frank Reich might have been the real genius there.

They really need to just go ahead and part ways with Howie Roseman, but I don't expect that to happen.

Roseman is Jeffrey Lurie's version of Marty Hurney.

Just another example among many of how quickly things can change in the NFL. Just a short few years ago, the Eagles had an MVP caliber young QB and a coach that looked to be very entrenched after a SB run. Now, that QB is struggling with injuries and looks like he might be done as a high level starter and that coach is out on his ass.

Damn. That sounds all too familiar.

Meanwhile, the Browns dominated the Steelers in a playoff game last night. Strange times indeed.
