gees man. Im stating the obvious. Im NOT saying they wont get him, but any amount of reading will show that at #8 an off the line LB is not the BEST value. Chill dude.

okay. so if we dont go QB at 8 and dont trade up or back. who is your preference?

Our blueprint for building this team should be young LBs acquired later in the draft. If one of them starts to break down physically, then just dump him and pick up another one later in the draft. Shaq is massively talented, but all you hear on gameday is fans ripping him a new one. That's because LBs are no longer that effective against good modern defenses. Just like Luke (epic talent) looked like complete trash against teams like the Saints. He got roasted. We have to have a smart blueprint to rebuild this team. Build up a dominant passing attack. Period. No 1st round LBs.

in the first? besides Jon Beason who? I actually hate that move, but I was screaming for Luke for where we sat in that draft.

Davis and Shaq were not MLB.

You forgot about Dan Morgan this quickly? All of those guys also signed huge second contracts that limited our ability to spend elsewhere. I think that's what a lot of fans miss. For every move there is also an opportunity cost. That move cost you the opportunity to make other moves. Hindsight being 20/20 and all, each of those huge second contracts proved to be a mistake.

The Saints and Bucs are the class of the NFCS, and we're not going to out compete them by collect top LBs.

If Rule isn't thinking "QB, weapons, o-line" then we're in deep trouble. If he starts spending picks on the defense yet again then we're going to get yeeted. If our identity is our defense then we know we're ever winning a SB. Not happening.

no. Dan Morgan and Luke were who I was referring to as our investments. also, we are talking about the draft at number 8. has nothing to do with signing big contracts.

If we can’t get QB, then we should trade back. Pick up an extra pick and grab two good offensive lineman.

i agree - trade back and grab a 2nd. have 3 picks in the first 2 rounds and get a T, G, and then another player. honestly its a deep DT class and would love to cut ties with KK and draft another DT and build that o and d line.

Brady will be on the Bucs for at least 2 more years after this. we are not winning a super bowl next year or year after.

i think he had to go defense his first draft because the defense was just so damn bad. its not a STUD o-line class, but its viewed to be deep. especially at G. we could easily end up going all offense this draft if the chips fall.

If you look at the weapons the Bucs and Saints have, and their o-lines as well, then you can see how to build a modern football team. Either one of those teams have what it takes to win the SB, but Brees is a little too old, and they ran into each other in the playoffs. Those are smartly built teams with a focus on QB, o-line, and weapons first and foremost, and you see the results. Same thing with KC. It's not rocket science. Are we going to be a Ron 2.0 team with a ton of expensive defensive players having the ball tossed over their heads for TDs? I hope not!

    • Team is going to look mighty different and while I’d love to keep our guys. I’m going to go a different route and bring in a bunch of new guys. I’ll break it down by line: Guentzel - Aho - Jarvis (Bringing Guentzel back along with RFA Jarvis is a no brainer) Svechnikov - Unger-Sorum - Toffoli (Throw FUS into the fire and give him two goal scorers in Svech and FA Toffoli to feed. Teravainen - Kuznetsov - Noesen (Bring Turbo back on a discount and bring back our only net front in Noesen) Martinook - Staal - Fast (Bring back Martinook and reunite the MAF line) Extra: Lemieux (The perfect extra) Slavin - Carrier (Burns is declining, bring in Alex Carrier who I’m a big fan of) Byram - Burns (Ship Necas to Buffalo for Byram) Orlov - Chatfield (Bringing back Chatfield is a no brainer) Extra: Morrow (He’ll get his chance) Kochetkov (It’s his time) Andersen (Only a couple years left) Martin (Most of his time will be in the AHL) First Call-Up’s: Nadeau, Blake Trade: Necas (He’ll be too expensive, trade him for a top 4 LD) Trade: Kotkaniemi (Probably won’t get anything for him, just attach a pick to him and be done with it) Walk: Pesce (Getting older, will be expensive, play will decline soon) Walk: Skjei (This one hurts the most but we won’t be able to afford him) Walk: Drury (Staal is still better than him at this point and they are redundant) Walk: DeAngelo (Thank you for your service) Walk: Raanta (Hopefully he retires) Walk: Tieksola, Murray, Burke (Better AHL options out there) Re-Sign: Comtois (Throw him in the AHL so we have a guy to protect our prospects) Re-Sign: Suzuki (Good depth for our AHL team) Re-Sign: Coghlan (Good AHL player) Re-Sign: Mendel (Good AHL player) Re-Sign: Smith (Good AHL player)
    • So the Huddle thinks he is either a youth pastor or Ted Bundy. I honestly love it! Let's just hope he can coach in his off time!
    • Yeah that is the old school way, have your young QB sit. Which I guess got less popular when they had to pay the top draftees so much.
