Hes 24 and none of the "injuries" were very serious.... I can almost guarantee you he plays through them if we were in a postion to contend...

it doesn’t even matter about the severity. Even cmc said in an interview this is what happens with injuries. They come in pairs or triples. Rbs get dinged up a ton because they play one of the most physical positions in the game. Injuries start adding up, and that highest paid rb contract starts looking stupid as hell when he starts missing 4,5,6,7 games a year. This is the trend for nfl rbs. People were screaming not to sign him to a second deal and at the very least wait until 5th year option to see how his body holds up.

for the love of god I hope fitts doesn’t overvalue rbs and linebackers like panther gms of the past.

You don't play through a high ankle sprain or an AC separation(depending on what grade).

That isn't smart for him or the team, regardless of the postion the team had been in.

I seem to recall Foster getting a shot and playing through a high ankle sprain.... An ac separation Kuechly played the second half of 2015 with one.... Regardless my point is they aren't the type of injuries that you lose ability long term from.... And I do agree its not wise to dole out huge RB contracts.

I think he'll have his best season to date this coming year. I think he has a personal need to put up hall of fame numbers and set records.

He'll knock down at least one more record this coming season.

The kid is just that good.

I honestly hope he doesn't because that would probably mean we are using him like Rivera did. The price tag indicates that we NEED to but I also don't want to be seeing him get another 375+ touches again. That isn't a recipe for offensive success, IMO.

But we are also wildly speculating with almost no idea what our offense is going to look like in 2021.

I think he could have played the last two games of the year but there was no reason. If he was down to him having to play through a fresh high ankle sprain or AC injury, it would have to be a pretty meaningful game. I'm not even sure a wild card game is worth that. It does depend on the scenario, though. Obviously if we are talking Conference championship or Super Owl, you leave it all out on the field.

    • Taking only players from the sheet that are realistically available in or after the listed round, I’d like… 1st: DT Caleb Banks (Styles not realistic) 2nd: LB Jacob Rodriguez 3rd: OT Best available from Bowry, Barber, and Casey 4th: CB Daylen Everette 5th: S Jalen Huskey 6th: RB Adam Randall 7th: IOL Best available from Lemieux, Dawkins, Leausa, and Brose   I know nothing about some of the players listed, but it seems like that would be the best way it could fall for now. I’m sure the list of who we meet will change a ton, and there will also be players we don’t meet with to keep quiet. I’d love to pick up Randall in the late rounds.
    • Not what I said. They know within the building why we aren't utilizing TEs more. If the rumors were true that we were seriously pursuing a couple of decent receiving TEs that strongly points toward a lack of quality receiving TEs currently on the roster. Does that mean we consider drafting one at 19? I don't know, but it wouldn't shock me and if we did there's only one guy it would be. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see TE drafting somewhere in the first three rounds.
    • Yeah, I don’t know. Tepper was behind the Bryce selection. Behind firings and hiring over his lack of development.  He doesn’t have to literally tell them their hands are tied for them to know this. It is in the air constantly. The Canales Bryce play calling was even portrayed by more than one person as Canales failing Bryce, instead of Bryce being responsible for his own performance (except when he does well, then it is all him). Now they have an extra coach in, to help the new OC get results from this QB.  The atmosphere is not welcoming to prototypical young QBs that have talent. You get Jake Plummer types or old vets. I think we are stuck.
