Man OP you really seem to have a grudge against Cmac.

And I hate to inform you that right now he is better than LT or Faulk.

Now if he retires early I will be glad to adjust that statement.

But right now I wouldn't trade for either of those guys straight up for Cmac.

No. He's not.

Bear in mind, the chance for any team to reach the Super Bowl any given year is 6.25%.  In this case, it appears that high dollar running backs actually slightly increase your chances from 6.25% to 8%.  Not huge, but there it is.

As was said, Brady has REALLY skewed stats the last 15-20 years.  Six of the years since 2010 (the scope of the discussion) Brady has been in the game, meaning that those high dollar RB's didn't really have much chance.  High dollar RB's are one thing, the GOAT QB is a different level entirely.

I dunno, we all like to think there's an argument to be made against it, but I'm not so sure.  At first glance, it doesn't appear that there is a strong case in either direction.

I can do the same breakdown for QB's but it will likely be fairly heavily weighted in the QB's favor for obvious reasons. I've done a top 10 QB Super Bowl breakdown before and it was pretty obvious how critical the QB is to getting a title.

That just isn't the case for RB's or really most positions on the field, in all honesty.

What about 1,000-yard receivers that get over $8 million a year? Do they pay off?

Just asking, because the guy we're attempting to say is overvalued broke a thousand yards receiving as well as 1,000 yards rushing. Oh yeah, he was also excellent as a back field blocker, too.

Off the field the dude is doing as many fashion as Cam was, was dating a frikkin' supermodel, was putting on pounds of muscle and being another well-spoken and charismatic face of the franchise.

Really, just let it go. Had he not been injured (and then I think held out by Rhule to preserve him for next season) we'd have most likely gotten another spectacular season out of him. When playing the guy was literally the whole team when our offense was on the field. Had they been able to figure out a way to get him on defense and special teams, they'd have had him out there then, too.

Lol. I'm not triggered, just amazed. There's a difference between price and value. You're hung up on price, but don't really appreciate the value.

There wasn't a guy on that list who had turned in a single season like CMC had.

You know this list includes Adrian Peterson's NFL record rushing season, right?

And as much as I love CMC as a football player. What was the Panthers record when CMC had his 1,000 yds rushing and receiving? And did the Panthers go to the playoffs?

I believe I have done one of these for the top 10 rushers in the NFL regardless of salary and the results aren't terribly different. It's a QB league. Anyone with any sense knows that, it's why all these teams are trying to sell the farm for guys like Watson or trade for Matt Stafford or move up in the draft to get one of these top 4 QB's but there haven't been any offseason rumors of teams trying to acquire CMC, Kamara, Cook, Henry, etc.

Hell, look at the incoming RB projections. It includes some stud RB's but they are behind all those QB's, a pile of WR's, OT's, DL, etc. People can shove their head in the sand all they want but there is a KC made the Super Bowl with ~$4 mil invested in RB's(one a first year rookie) and Tampa made the Super Bowl with ~$6 mil invested in RB's.

FWIW, this is what it cost in total RB salary to get a top 10 rushing offense in 2020(asterisks for playoff teams).

*Ravens: 3071 yds, $7.5 mil
*Titans: 2690 yds, $8 mil
*Browns: 2374 yds, $6.6 mil
Patriots: 2346 yds, $7.7 mil
Vikings: 2283 yds, $7 mil
*Saints: 2265 yds, $9.6 mil
Cardinals: 2237 yds, $10.5 mil
*Packers: 2118 yds, $5.4 mil
Eagles: 2027 yds, $2.5 mil
*Rams: 2018 yds, $3.1 mil

These are the salaries of the top 10 rushers in 2020(asterisks for playoff teams).

*Derrick Henry - $6 mil
Dalvin Cook - $4.6 mil
*Jonathan Taylor - $1.4 mil
*Aaron Jones - $2.2 mil
James Robinson - $0.6 mil
*David Montgomery - $0.9 mil
*Nick Chubb - $2 mil
Josh Jacobs - $2.7 mil
*Lamar Jackson - $2.6 mil
Melvin Gordon - $7 mil

In 2020 a total of 2 RB's in the top 10 of pay appeared in the top 10 in rushing yards.

In 2020 a total of 3 teams in the top 10 of rushing had backs in the top 10 in pay.
