Trade with Dolphins to get Watson?

Contrary to everyone in here talking crap just to talk crap, there actually is some feasibility to this.  Perhaps CMC or a player like him addresses the need of a team like the Dolphins moreso than a team like the Texans.  3 team trades are completely feasible, and this is essentially a 3 team trade.

Please, stop. The trade for Watson crap just keeps getting more and more ludicrous. Let it go and move on.

If we went through everything everyone has suggested AND somehow managed to talk both Houston and Watson into moving here, not only would we have a major hit to the old salary cap, but new contract in a couple of years and a QB who has the entire organization by the short and curlies. Getting him could potentially nullify both the new GM and the head coach, not to mention any other players of note that somehow remained untraded.

This is actually beginning to get pathetic.

Yes, there is.  I'm not suggesting we will do it, or even that it's likely that we do it.  I'm saying that the concept of a 3 team trade is not as ludicrous as everyone seems to think.  This has nothing to do with Watson or the Dolphins, just the idea of a 3 team trade and how people are acting like they are impossible.

Any team that trades for Watson is giving up a significant haul to do so.

A team that makes a trade like that is not going to turn around and trade away the player they gave up all that stuff for.

And even if you found a team that was willing, the package it would take on our part would be mind numbing.

No, there isn't.

Thats not what he's saying at all.

Hes saying we should look to make a separate deal with Miami for the 3rd pick.

THEN package the 3rd pick into our Watson offer. I agree if Miami aquires Watson we arent then trading with Miami to get him. That wasn't his scenario though.

And there is some precedence for this. The Eagles traded up to pick 8 before then using pick 8 in a package to move up to 2 for Wentz.

All that said, count me in the camp of people who much rather take Wilson/Fields at 3 than to package more assets into a Watson trade.

I don't think you're reading what I'm typing.  When I say "it's feasible" I am referring to the concept of 3 team trades.  I'm not talking about this specific scenario.

Everyone is acting like 3 team trades don't happen or are impossible.  That is absolutely untrue.

Same issue.

It would take significant resources to trade up to the third pick, then after that trading the third pick plus additional resources to get Watson. The idea's crazy no matter which direction it goes.

If you trade up to the second or third pick, just draft someone with it.

For the record, you aren't reading what OP is saying either.  OP is saying trade with Miami to get the #3 pick, then use that pick and future picks to go get Watson.  Not trade with Miami to get Watson after Miami already traded for him.

Already addressed.

With that said, we have people on here who are so devoted to this idea that if Watson does get traded somewhere else, I don't doubt they'll be proposing trade packages to get him from his new team.

    • That's not totally the case. It is hard to discuss future without a crystal ball, you look at the past the to assess and project, and there is a lot of on field negative from year one. Some people say throw it out. You can’t dismiss things that were on him and not the OL or Reich or Chark or Mingo etc., if you want the real story.  Only Young can tell where that goes and everybody just has to wait for real football. That footwork is not just people picking on him, it is probably a huge barrier to his potential success. All the passing comes from a base and if it off the throws are hard to trust.  OTA optimism is fools gold tbh. We have seen the skins and shirts all stars enough times to know what that is. We will need real football at real football game speed which we won’t get even in preseason.  That said I expect him to somehow make his way to somewhere in QB tiers or rankings to maybe low 20s. Gotta win 6 at least for that.  My opinion is if they can make a playoff run with a 4th tier QB then fine but I’d just as soon go over to the side of those who for years held out for a QB capable of talking to and winning a SB. I am not thinking he is that guy so far but taking this year to find out is necessary.
    • Good lawd, look at the amount of rotation required for a mere 40-yard pass. No wonder he needs a runway for any throw beyond 50 yards.  Can you think of any NFL quarterback today who has a weaker arm than Bryce? For reference, with a similar amount of hip rotation, Stroud slung the ball 69 yards. https://x.com/VatorSports/status/1728845724434186374
    • I think the issue is there isn't any more of these posters still active on this site.  Everyone I see posting now either doesn't like Bryce or wants to see him in a better situation to make a better assessment.  I think everyone agrees he has work to do in order to show us he can become the QB we need him to.  Who knows if he will or if he can, but there are definitely other conversations to be had without being stuck on repeat and every thread turning into the same one.  It sounds like you need to find the Bryce Fan Boys from before the draft and just vent/hash it all out with them somewhere.
