That happens to me every year--the guy I want is sitting there and then we take a guy I had scratched off my list.

Mac has me intrigued--I think boom or bust is the best way to describe him.  While most Huddlers are not in the Jones camp, I see the potential for him to be great in the right system.  They say, "Yeah, but at Bama he had a great OL and WRs"  That would be "the right system".   So I see both sides--but I post "Pro Jones" stuff because there is literally NOTHING statistically that says, "write him off."  Nothing.  So what are people seeing that they don't like?  They want a mobile qb and he aint that.  Gonna be a fun six or seven weeks.

I wouldn’t be completely upset about Mac Attack Jones, but in comparison to Lance....

He was running a pro-style offense--albeit not throwing a whole lot--reading defenses and calling his own plays during the first year that he was the man. That should say something about his mental acuity for the game.

What a lot of people don’t get they didn’t have to throw, they was beating teams pretty bad. When he did he look pretty damn good imo.

This could be looked at both ways though. If it’s smoke and mirrors and Brady isn’t there then wouldn’t teams know this was a diversion by Brady not being there?

I think we’re genuinely interested but I’m not sure we pull the trigger at 8 for him. I think we should if other options are not available but he is probably the biggest risk in the draft at QB. I love his traits and character though. Huge fan.

Rhule is there with Fiterererrr to see where Fit would rank him and where he will be on their board.  They have no shot at the top 2 so you have to rank the rest.  It's not that complicated.

I was just responding to stirs “diversion/smoke and mirrors” post. I think they’re genuinely interested in him.

I think they are interested in a QB upgrade for sure.  Which of these guys that is will depend greatly how they rank them and if their board falls like they planned.  Other than that I would not read anything into the visits this time of year.

6'4" 225lbs coming out of college. Maybe he'll add about 10-15lbs naturally.

You've got a big boy there. Cannon for an arm. Sounds familiar.

Just make sure you don't keep trying to fit a square peg into a round hole like they continue to do to Cam, unlike Chud.

Build an offense FOR your special guy.

He doesn’t need to add anymore weight.

He looks like he made some good progress from 2019 to 2020. Added some muscle and leaned up.

6’3” 225... yah he’s good

    • We need a Sam Off Ball Backer to pair with Lloyd. Lloyd is a strong Interior Will especially in Pass Coverage- but that is also Trevin Wallace’s archetype. Need a Rozeboom style run stopper. Rodriguez and Allen fit that
    • There aren’t that many ways to screw Day 2 up.  That’d be them making an obvious reach, or selecting at one of the few positions that we are pretty solid at. Because as excited as we are for the growth and improvement this team is showing, it’s still not an overly talented or deep roster. Honestly, there aren’t really many positions I’d feel bad about. Feelings about Bryce aside (because we are not going to select a QB), it’s really RB (bad positional value) and that’s it. I guess OT too since we grabbed Freeling in Round 1.    While not as high on my wish list as other spots, you can justify WR or TE.     Interior offensive lineman who would likely take over an interior spot either this year (at center) or guard (next for cap casualty of Hunt or Lewis)? Fine by me.   Dlineman? Yes, that’s a highly rotational position and we have zero quality depth.    ILB? Yep, could stand for an upgrade over Wallace.    EDGE? Absolutely wouldn’t hate another option to spell Phillips, Scourton, and Princely.    FS?  Would love to add better coverage skill set to the backend of the defense. Moehrig and Ransom are great in run support but not as good deep. Adding a more traditional FS would allow us to mix and match/run some 3 safety sub packages and or a big nickel type look with a SS down near the line for better run support in possible pass downs.    CB? Could stand to get better at nickel.
    • Sounds like Veesaar is entering the draft. He could always test the waters and pull out and return but without him our big men look like a serious liability. Better do something in the portal. If they don't do something about this portal madness my days as a college sports fan are probably numbered. This bullshit of having a nearly entirely new team every season is gonna get old fast.
