Oh, I'd definitely take it for sure but if I was a former high 1st round pick I wouldn't exactly be strutting around pounding my chest about a Super Bowl "I won" as a backup.

Oh I would. The best defensive line to offer when mocked would me, "Okay, show more your ring."

And really, he's one injury away from starting QB of a really well-built team with good coaching and a lot of momentum in a weak, weak, weak division. All in all, not a bad roll of the dice for a guy who never should have been taken as a first rounder in the first place, much less at #2. Had he been a fourth rounder who started at the Bears, we'd have thought he did okay-ish.

No doubt. Too soon to go this route. And if it’s as a backup, pick a team that doesn’t have a 4th year QB entering his prime. Take less and audition behind Big Ben or Fitz or anyone not a long term starter already.

      Oline was worst in the nfl I agree last season, but with 2 solid guards and a very good rt, we aren't going to be a bottom 10 oline.  As for defense, I'm not worried, we actually improved against the run and because burns was dog poo last year, were about the same in pass rush.
