Eh.....I think we will see about that. Perhaps it has but I suspect that situation is pretty fluid. I understand the "insiders" are hearing that but nothing stays static in the NFL.

Twenty two accusations getting resolved before the draft would take a miracle.

The Watson ship has sailed.

I can bet you it did not.  The only way that ship has sailed if NFL will find something.  It’s a civil suit and the whole thing seems like an attention grab to keep Watson in Houston and make other teams not to trade for him (you already bought what attorney is selling).

That's the thing, the way this all went down I am waiting to see the overall result and not gonna go off into the weeds of whether he is guilty or not. Let that all get sorted out.

We all go way too overboard on jumping to assume people are guilty based on information streams with partial information, at best. Not to mention how much salacious BS gets blasted by the media and/or the legal system.

I doubt you see him moved for a while, but I don't expect to see him play in Houston this coming season.

It's something about the Darnold situation that makes me think he could do very well outside of the Jets. If Rhule, Brady and Fit could really get a good feel for his game and see if there is something to bring to us. Then go and get him for somethibg reasonable say a 3rd and then look what we could build with our 1st and 2nd. That is maybe a dream scenario but it would really go a long way to our future success. If there is nothing there so be it but really  do an in depth due diligence

What am i missing here? What’s Darnold done in college or in the pros to make u ever get excited about him possibly leading our Panthers?

I don’t understand any of this “trade for Darnold” talk...closest thing I hope we ever get to Darnold is Dan Arnold

Yeah because Teddy got a fair shot with his o-line and he did have the best rb in davis huh, but even robbie did better with Teddy.

All I'm saying is a move like that is the old regime. Fitz to WAS way of thinking.

Either Watson for the low now or crash and burn with our own drafted QB.

But on a sidenote he better than z.wilson...

Teddy had maybe the best three receiver lineup in the entire NFL and couldn’t eclipse 4000 passing yards. We saw his best season last year. That was it...

I don’t think anyone in the NFL thinks that we’ve seen the best of Darnold yet bc Gase is such a disaster.

Flipping a 3rd for Darnold as a backup to not getting Watson imo is maybe as good or better plan to trading a treasure trove for a top 3 pick. Unless coaches think his problems just aren’t repairable.

Darnold did enough in college to make him a top draft pick.

Mind you, so did Jamarcus Russell and Ryan Leaf.

At the pro level, you have to hope he's another Ryan Tannehill, someone that can look better once he's in a better system.

Is he?

I'm not so sure.

He threw 57 TDs in two years of college (only one year I believe as full time starter) in a pro style offense against top competition...where he isn’t running RPOs, spreading the field with wide open shots all day long.

His numbers basically mirrored Luck coming out of college...and he has the physical tools to go with it. Build a stout OL and give him some weapons in Brady’s system....you have a potential star.

Two things:

Drew Brees was markedly better than Darnold ever was before being released to free agency, so the Saints didn't have to use any draft capital.

Desean Watson's situation will have to really eclipse the ordinary for him to be considered before the draft, as far as time and circumstances. I would think that the ONLY chance he has to even get off, much less before the draft (even perceptibly) is for his defense to prove that even one person is lying. If that were to happen, though somewhat of a longshot, then that may impugn the whole lot of them.

    • I get it's subjective and I said "PFF rated him as" one of the top deep ball passers during that time, which is an accurate statement.  They are still a group of professionals that look at film and data in order to make their judgements/ratings.  These people whose data has been incorporated into a lot of teams' staffs view Bryce's deep throws as some of the best in the league during that stretch.  That tells me that he can probably throw a deep pass vs the Huddle's version of he is small and didn't do it his rookie year so he must not be able to.  That and literally seeing him do it just makes me feel he is more than capable of doing so.   Do you think PFF is skewing their opinion to prop up a QB in a bottom tier franchise?  It's just another group's opinion and I feel is pretty respected around the league currently.  It's not the gospel truth or anything.
    • I still remember how happy I was that gettlegut was not the GM once he picked Jones, that was a firing pick and well..... If not for the raiders drafting Clelin Ferrell, it was the biggest draft day mistake in the last 20 some years.
    • He had 251 passing yards. 3 passing touchdowns and 2 rushing touchdowns. All in all a very impressive game. Problem is I do not envision his rushing ability translating like that over the course of the upcoming season. Yeah it will be something to account for from time to time but one it's not sustainable and two you don't want to put his durability to the ultimate test against a motivated defender willing to take a penalty and a fine. And plus with our backfield. Two 1k yard rushers. That's what they're here for. Then we have a much improved WR room. That means Bryce has to elevate those passing numbers substantially. The fact of the matter is regardless of circumstances it did take him 23 games to surpass Kyle Allen's single season passing yardage from 13 games in 2020. And that is not a high bar by any means. Whatever QB tier Bryce ends up in from here amongst his peers this upcoming season when it's all said and done it will be with his arm.
