Is it because he is great at high pointing in contested catch situations or is it because he can’t separate effectively in his routes???

Easy tell you who’s glass half full and who's half empty based off how they take the stat. Where in actuality it’s probably somewhere in the middle.

The film pretty clearly shows it's the former and not the latter, at this with respect to the circumstances around this specific statistic this past year. How many times did we see DJ, Robbie, Curtis, etc have to slow up to catch downfield passes?

It's because Teddy sucks at throwing the deep ball. It's almost always underthrown creating a contested catch situation even when the receiver was open.

It’s because he has to wait on Teddys underthrow to come down so he can fight back towards it.

Not if you actually watch the games

This was allegedly his weakness coming out of college. Now he's good on short stuff, a YAC monster, and a deep threat all on one. And he's not even 25. Lol. He's getting paid, hopefully in Carolina.

If we can’t pay him because we locked up a linebacker and running back kill me now.

Tepper has the cash, I'm not worried about it at this point. Right now they have to be thinking ahead on Brian Burns and DJ bc those guys are clearly our most talented first contract guys.

    • Why should Newton not be fired if he isn’t good at his job? I feel like a ton of passionate fans would love that job.
    • I said that way back because it is true. Teams aren’t trading what appears to be a can’t miss prospect.    In an extremely rare scenario like they have an established QB and maybe got the pick in a trade. Sort of like the Bears but with a better incumbent. If they’d have had someone significantly better than Fields they might have cashed in.
    • So you're saying you'd still go back and take the inferior talents, just because you think they fit with Bryce better, a player who is more likely than not, to no longer be a Panther next year? That's just crazy to say, wanting to have a worse player because you think they fit better with your awful QB is just dumb.  You take the best players, if your existing players then aren't good enough, you replace them later. It's crazy that there are still people with this take after they've seen what T-Mac can do for us in just 5 games so far.
