Looking at Joe Brady's Offense+New Weapons

Well, he has two vet WRs in front of him.  So there is that.   CMC will eat in the psd game a lot with Sam.

But the other side the coin is what Joe Brady does on offense.  And that isn’t running an O with 2 WRs on the field all game.

Look at last years draft.  2nd round WRs had no trouble getting up to speed with no preseason or offseason.

I think the 300- 500 yard range is what he will do as a rookie.  A situational roleplayer as a rookie.

He has 3 vets ahead of him, plus cmac and Arnold.  I would say 500 yards would be the absolute upper echelon ceiling for him this year.  I would temper that saying 300ish and a few td's.

Don't get me wrong, I love the signing but wouldn't consider David Moore a locked-in 3rd option.  And Brady is more familiar with Marshall and how to use him.  And don't forget we've been fooled before with a younger vet from Seattle  *cough DJ Hackett

And I am not shitting on the kid just saying he was probably selected as a long term option/value rather than being an immediate contributor this season.

You are WAY underrating this player's talents.  With his routes and hands, at 6'4", and a nose for the EZ, I think he catches more balls, for more yds, and more TDs, than Robbie.

He is a HUGE draft pickup.

(and to @Mr. Scotand his sharp comment about rub routes, that's a natural component of trips formations, isn't it?  With Marshall's abilities from the slot, he'll be a big factor there, too.)

I know it's a big part of what the Saints have been doing since Payton got there.

As much as anything, it's just nice to see something different than those old Shula route combos that too frequently had two players running to the same spot.

What are your projections for the kid?

    • Any idea what happened to him at LSU? im reading that he was considered a 1st round pick in 2023, had an off 2024 season with only 4 sacks but was also on a horrible FSU team then went to LSU where he was supposed to be on an aggressive defense that should have given him a lot of sacks but he only ended up with one….   was he injured? Did the top SEC competition expose him? What happened? Cause this guy was considered a top prospect .
    • Sometimes its fun to read the threads/posts.  The panthers could literally hire a groundskeeper and we'd have a thread "improving the field for no other reason to prop up Bryce Young".  Apparently no move is ever done to actually make the team better.  All a conspiracy to just focus on Bryce Young. Or suddenly daydreaming and reminiscing about Sam Darnold when he was hated more than Bryce Young.  Its really fun to do a message board search about Darnold during that time period.   Or thinking there is just a tree that grows QB, and you can just easily go up and pluck one.
    • Yeah okay. We as an organization have been more patient with him than many. And there has been a small parade of guys drafted since he was, also to bad teams, that have passed him. Some have lapped him. As a fan I am out of patience but he gets this year it is out of my hands always has been. I just hope the bar is higher than it has been for him.    FWIW, XL dropped two passes last year. He did do some other bad stuff, just saying.
