I think drafting Marshall in the 2nd is the writing on the wall for Anderson. There's only so much salary cap to go around.

He could very well be a CAP casualty

But i think it depends on what we pay DJ and how much robby is asking for. He took less than what NY was expecting when he first signed with us (i believe)

TBD. Marshall may not be able to stay healthy or work out. And maybe Anderson isn't as expensive as we believe in free agency.

Hopefully they both play well and it's a "good" tough decision like the Curtis Samuel decision was.

Yeah, IIRC, didn't he have a better offer somewhere else?

I am worried about his injury history, but I think that would be the only thing holding him back from being a great talent for us. I think the only odd guy out would be David Moore (not DJ). I think production and time will tell

If he puts up those numbers, Brady looks great but the Jets would have to be embarrassed. Plus that would be quit the steal by Fitts for a future 2nd and late picks. I’m still skeptical, but hopeful!

Especially since we've basically gotten everything we spent back except the 2nd rounder

The Jets would only be embarrassed if Wilson is the new Sam Darnold. Then the spotlight becomes, "WTF are the Jets doing to ruin QB's???!"

This is where I'm at. If Darnold puts up those stats, Joe Brady is probably the hottest name on the head coaching interview circuit next year.

Yeah probably...although I'm not sure it'd be deserved.  That would make Brady 1 for 2 on QB reclamation projects so it'd be hard to attribute Darnold's success to Brady versus the Jets just being that much of a  dysfunctional dumpster fire.  You would expect a genius offensive mind to milk something out of Teddy rather than just see him perform the exact same he has in every previous season.

As much as people like to absolve Brady of all culpability because of Teddy: a good OC either has to work around the QB's limitations, or, if the offense sputters again and again and again and again because of said QB limitations, then you HAVE to at least try something different.  I'm not saying he should have benched Teddy and tried Walker/Grier since that traditionally isn't an OC's call, but hell....try SOMETHING different.  It was the same issues every game that never got addressed.

I seriously doubt he's a cap casualty, I just expect us to let him walk and take the comp pick.

QB is the one spot that's really hard to scheme around, especially when you're short your #1 offensive weapon. I'm not saying Brady was perfect, but I think he probably did about as much as he could with the obvious limitation at QB.

Don’t forget, this stat line would be over 17 games as opposed to 16 in the past. This would require an average of about 235 YPG, approximately 1.5 TDs per game, and less than 1 INT per game. If Darnold can put up these numbers, I think the QB issue is solved for a few years. However, over a 17-game season, I’d like to see more TDs.

    • What do you think of Bryce Youngs career thus far? Are you excited about his progress or is it not enough for you? I included a poll of ranking his performance through 3 years thus far.  I personally think he's made some decent progress. Has had some high moments (last half of 2024, Rams game, ATL game in 2025)  but in my mind, those are still outweighed by the many more lowlights thus far (ex turnovers, missed throws, poor decisions)  It's a very mixed bag for me. He's done enough to get a 5th year option but by no means should we lock him in with a 50+ mil a year multi year deal. I want to see him play consistently well for a full year before that happens (yes, I'm still saying that going into year 4. That might be telling).  Just sucks when you see CJ Stroud, Jayden Daniel's, Caleb Williams almost immediately lighting poo up with their arm talent. Maybe Bryce is just an ultra slow burn. I don't know what to think anymore. Guess we're gonna be stuck with him for a whilr unless we end up being bad enough to earn a high pick next year. I doubted it lol. Overall Stats for his career:       ● 14 W - 30L (regular season)       ● 0-1 playoffs record        ● 61.4% completion, 8291 passing yards, 49 TDs, 30 INTs  Year 1:       ● 2 wins, 14 losses      ● 60% completion rate, 2877 passing yards, 11 TD to 10 INTs, 5.5 yards per attempted pass Year 2:        ● 4 wins , 8 losses        ● 60.9% completion rate,  2403 passing yards, 15 TD, 9 INTs,  6.3 yards per attempted pass  Year 3:        ● 8 Wins, 8 Losses         ● 63.6% competition rate, 3011 passing yards, 23 TDs to 11 INTs  Playoffs         ● 1 game in year 3 ( 0 - 1 in playoffs)         ● 21/40 (52.5% completion rate), 264 passing yards, 1 TD, 1 INT.
