Soccer star heart gives out during Euro’s on front of all fans

Christian is a true gentleman both on and off the pitch. What a weird comment a day after the mans heart stopped and two kids almost lost their father and a wife almost lost her husband.

Who cares if there is flopping in soccer or not.

It's not a "weird" comment. Watch the video. There's literally a good 10+ seconds before anyone reacts. What other sport would have a guy go down like he was shot by a sniper and everyone basically just stand there like, "Yep. This is totally normal."?

I wonder if he has pre-existing conditions. Hard to think someone in shape like that could just have that happen. It was blazing hot, etc. You see it from time to time on high school and college basketball courts too. I'm more shocked they continued the game.

I don’t know the details of this incident, but you sound like you are conflating a heart attack with sudden cardiac failure. Happened to my sister when she was 35.

Think of it this way:

Heart attack = something wrong with the plumbing.
Sudden cardiac death = short circuit in the wiring.

Just clearing things up for ya on assumptions, as before it happened so close to home I would have been a tad ignorant in my assumptions as well.

glad he’s ok.

If a player literally dies on the field and your response is “durrr soccer and flopping am I right?” maybe just poo the fug up and sit this one out.

Seconds matter in response time for life threatening incidents. He died on the field. If they hadnt been able to revive him, how much could those 15 seconds have mattered. Constant flopping prevents quick reaction by medical personnel to actual injuries because they think players are going to pop right back up just like they do 99.9% of the time. It’s the boy who cried wolf on the pitch.

Or maybe we’re seriously disturbed by a man lying on the field in obvious distress and no one reacts. So when you ask yourself why they didnt react, its pretty fugging obvious its because this sport allows it so often nobody pays attention when it happens. Im very happy they saved his life and his wife and kids didn’t lose him. Im also disturbed by the fact players falling over is seen as a joke and not potentially serious.

It took literally three seconds before an opposing player started calling for help. But you guys keep making idiots of yourselves if you feel like it.

That's scary.

But since it's soccer, it took everyone a good 10-15 seconds to realize anything was actually wrong since comically exaggerated flopping is so intrinsic to the game.

You literally can't help yourself with these horseshit comments can you? Your annoying sports broh ness has no limits.

For the mathematically challenged, take a deep breath and go ahead and count “one Mississippi, two Mississippi, three Mississippi” from the time he collapses until players start calling for help. It’s three seconds.

Actually quicker than when Kevin Ware snapped his shin in half and his teammates just collapsed on their knees instead of rendering medical aide, which I guess is the standard for how it should be. Maybe if basketball players stopped flopping so much there wouldn’t be as many Kevin Ware incidents. #logic

Here's praying European star Christian Eriksen will have a speedy recovery  and go forward to have good health and a long life.

This goes to show that serious health issues can occur to the best of us and that each and every day we have good health is a wonderful blessing..

I made a comment. Y'all got triggered. It happens a lot. Toughen up.

I wasn't even trying to take a shot. It was serious. The dude face planted and laid there for a decent amount of time because such occurrences are so common in that sport. That's reality. Stay mad about it.

    • Two things: 1. Dr. Eric Eager is central to the draft process 2. I know that it was edited, but we didn't hear "Thieneman" one time, not even before the Vikings pick.
    • Why would he sign here as a guard when surely someone would sign him as a tackle?  Assuming he is healthy
    • Went back to watching the highlights. With a sober mind haha. Here is what I saw.    freddie needs to make 1 of those but the rest aren’t on him.    Slavin was BBBBAAAD again last night. Not sure what is going on with these game one Slavin gafs.    miller was ok but had his worst game in the playoffs so far.    nikishin was no good. His his awful turnover led to the first goal at the end of the first period that just can’t happen. ghost was beat like a drum multiple times last night, including the go-ahead goal at the end jarivs wont shoot. He is either hurt or he is struggling mentally and I think it could be a combination of both. He passed up a wide open net on the power-play only to pass it to no one and cleared it himself.     Svech played well. He is getting zero help on that line.    aho. Worst game as a pro. I mean that. He won’t shoot it, passes go to no one and turns it over repeatedly.  He did exactly what they did against Montreal game one when Miller had a turnover. Aho left his man to go help and left the golden Knight player wide open in front of Freddie.  If I was Rod, you Tell Aho when that thing hits your stick you fire it  someone needs to sit him down just him in a room and ask what’s going on. He seems soft, timid and has zero fire.   canes could have won that game   There isn’t a gap between these two teams  they are dead even   Carter Hart’s gonna get lit up in this series. We can beat that guy. the consensus last night was our defense played horrible and our stars won’t score.  clean the defense up. Tell the top line to shoot it everything and we’ll win tomorrow night.   Possibly convincingly.
