Charlie Campbell reported that "one team drafting in the top 10 that desperately needed a LT told me that Rashawn Slater can't play LT and they project Slater to be a LG or C in the NFL" (clearly talking about the Panthers as he has an inside source)

Makes me believe this draft was Sewell or bust and they didn't like any LT prospects

Hmmm. I disagree with thinking he can not play LT, he'd need to proven that. Sewell is playing RT this season....funny since I once believe he was the best LT in ten yrs derp derpa, then his arm length happened and my want level dropped hard. Still would have picked him tho, but its not the HUUUGGGE miss like months ago feelings.

His arms are shorter than the LT minimum recommendation of like 33”, but if he can play LT, I’d love him to be a stud.  He can definitely play the position as he showed at BYU.  Does less of an inch matter that much?  I guess we’ll see (in before my wife/gf thinks so).  I think he can actually be a good LT.  His athletic scores were fantastic and imo that matters more than less of an inch of arm length. He’s the guy I’m most excited about behind Horn, even more than Tremble.  We’ve needed great OL players for a long time.

I agree I think it's a shame if we don't at least try him at LT first

Like who?

Pretty much anybody who's healthy and worth anything is already employed somewhere.

Villanueva was available until very recently. Hell okung is better than anyone we have now.

The team doesn't wanna go week to week wondering whether they have a left tackle or not again this season.
