Haha, that was brutal.  I can tell you this, we were at our Spring Game on draft day, the big video screen in the Coliseum showed the Mark pick….stunned silence in the stadium. I guarantee you, no one could believe he was taken that high….Mark completely lacked the clutch factor, he had an offensive line anchored by Tyron Smith and one of the best defensive units in our history, yet he could not carry the team for one quarter for our only loss of the season.  We know what we had.

I don’t believe I have posted one negative response about any of your players, never championed Sam over any of the QBs currently on your team….and I would be dishonest if I didn’t blame the skeptics, there is history to back them up.

I sincerely want the Panthers to win, not just Sam.

if you show up at BOA thinking you are going to see the starting units this weekend.....I would think you might be disappointed.

Thread title IMO is a tad misleading based on what Matt Rhule actually said.

When does the first string ever play more than a series or two before the third preseason game? What he is getting in these joint practices is much better than a preseason game and now he can experience the speed of the game. Whenever I go to a preseason game I always am there at the start figuring the starters won't be in for long.

So apparently DJ tweaked his back yesterday but wanted to go today anyway

coach called him a warrior…our coach wants tough guys on his team willing to run thru walls

i can think of a few guys right now that may not make it…start with our mlb that likes to ride a bike on the sidelines…and drives too fast

To be fair, none of us knows how serious Perryman's injury is.

It could legitimately be something that he shouldn't play through. And heaven knows we've seen examples of guys short circuiting themselves by playing sooner than they ought to have.

Now with that said, the phrase "you can't make the club from the tub" is a very valid observation.

I don't really have any interest in that debate right now.   Was really just giving you a heads up that I thought the thread title was misleading.

I think if you wanted to catch the starters, the Pitt game really seems to be the one the starters will all show up in.

I know some fans historically pick which preseason games to go to in person based on who is slotted to play in them.  Safest route to see everyone looks to be the Pittsburgh game IMO.

Yeah and the good news is that it is home so we can see it in person. On the other hand Steeler fans come en mass from the trailer parks in SC and are really annoying and obnoxious.

I remember Pete Carroll coming out and straight up saying Mark Sanchez isn't ready for the NFL. I was like, "Damn."

hey, at least Rhule can get some actual crowd noise for his O to work with.   He talked about having to create some artificial noise today to practice with.   Every 4th seat gonna have some idiot with a yellow towel in them.

Imagine if those Jets teams he played on had simply gone out and rented a good veteran QB.  Those were some really strong teams.  Talk about a wasted window.

And if he does fail, you'll be gone because you're not a Panthers fan. You're a Sam Darnold fan. Don't start thinking you're a "better" fan than people who were here long before Sam Darnold.

Don't be a jerk and stop putting words in my mouth.   That's not what I was saying.

While I did follow Sam here, I also left the Jets because I finally had enough of their sh*t.

If Sam is not the answer, then I'll be here when(if ever) Carolina finds the answer at QB.

Do you want to bet that I don't stick around or something?   We can play that game.  🤨

Pete was right….but Mark, like Carson, invested his money well.

The big “jock major” at USC is Communications, which prepares them for a career in media along with all the USC connections.  He saved his pretty face, lol.

You bailed on the Jets when Darnold flopped. If he flops here, you'll bail on the Panthers and say he failed because we're a dumpster fire.

I bailed on the Jets after so many years of dealing with their subpar sh*t.    Sam's treatment by them was just the last straw.

So it's a bet, then.

First off, hello!  I'm new here.  🙂

Now that said, The Jets were no good.

What did you expect?

That franchise is a dumpster fire and for Sam to even have a PLUS-.500 RECORD after 3 seasons overall over there, speaks volumes.

He'll do great here.

We get it, you're a Darnold fan. That's fine. All I'm saying is slow your roll trying to tell Panthers fans how to be Panthers fans while you bounce around the league following your favorite college QB.

    • Went to school in MD when this came out. Dance floor got CRAZY when this joint came on!
    • They had best show out in Week 1 there are zero,I mean zero,  excuses for that offense  defense, haven’t play together yet and they still have Mr Soft and Predictable as DC  I expect break downs at times  …but that offense returns all starters except Tremble and both Mayes and Brady are veterans and can play LG and know the system not up for any participation awards this season they can save that practice energy for Jacksonville.     I’m sick of the, winning,  or looking competitive, when it doesn’t matter.
    • There are some tough decisions that I'm eager to see the results of... Does Blackshear sneak on to the roster as RB4? Does the team go with 4 TEs or just 3 again? And has Mitchell Evans done enough to defend his roster spot from James Mitchell? Who is WR6 and is there a WR7? TMac, XL, Coker, and AT seem to be locks imo and I'm assuming Renfrow also makes it due to all of the camp praise. Who makes it between Brycen Tremayne, Jimmy Horn Jr, and David Moore? If the team goes with 7 WRs, which one of those three doesn't make it? Jacolby George and Emani Bailey both have not gotten a lot of game time. Could the Panthers be trying to hide them so that they can be stashed on the PS? Do they go with 10 OL instead of 9? Who makes it out of Walton, Carter, and Kingston? DL locks are DB, BB3, ARob, and Turk. That leaves Jaden Crumedy, Cam Jackson, Sam Roberts, Shy Tuttle, and LaBryan Ray all competing for the final 1 - 3 spots. Does DJ Johnson get IR'd and Thomas Incoom make the roster as EDGE5? What in the fuuuuuuuuuuuuck is going to happen at LB? Only locks seem to be Wallace, Rozeboom, and Cherelus (Wallace has mentioned in media how Cherelus has been big bro for him on the team). Rhattigan had some good moments against Houston, Martin-Scott is an SC guy, Krys Barnes has popped on defense and on special teams, and Windmon got time starting for the team last season. Are two of those guys going to make it or are the Panthers poaching from another team's cuts? CB5... who is it? Do they go with the 4 expected safeties or bring in a 5th? Has Ransom done enough to take the start from Nick Scott?
