Yes, but again he's only better than the backups at his position specifically. He's not versatile enough to have active as a backup so until the team is ready to make him the starter he will, baring some more injuries, be inactive on game day. He's not jelling by sitting the bench regardless and he would be limiting the team's options in the event of an injury on the line that wasn't his specific position.

He's still getting work in practice obviously.

He's good enough now to be a starter. I mean we are missing out on a starter because others are bad at muliple positions?

I said before that he should probably be starting. The discussion you quoted me on wasn't about why he's not starting but rather about why he's inactive. It's because the team isn't ready to start him and he doesn't have value as an active backup versus more versatile players.

He will be active when he's named as a starter and not before for this reason.

He dropped 34 pounds from Senior bowl to draft.  WTF does Rhule expect.  Put his big ass on the field if he gets tired.  Sub him out for a series or two.

Rhule doesn't get it,  Running game is #1.  Brown is clearly the guy you want in the running game.  Open up some damn holes and that opens the play action and wide open receivers.

MATT RHULE stop playing college football and join the NFL.

mans kneecaps gonna disintegrate on the opening drive if he's out of shape

Yes but the question is how can he ever be a starter if he isn't given the opportunity. I mean if he's not ready say that. Not that he isn't versital. I mean Moton is versital but they refuse to use him on the left side. Its contradictory. Especially when you're starting guys like Elflein.

This is based on what?  Speculation?  Casual observation of him against backups?  Or professional evaluation?  Please elaborate.

Based on the observation on the talent above him. I'm not saying he's all pro. I'm saying the guys above him will never even be starters much less all pro. So after a good showing in preseason why are we waiting? To get Sam killed? This is Rivera type BS we dealt with for years.

It's not contradictory in that Rhule was answering questions specifically about why he wasn't active not why he wasn't a starter but his answer explained both reasons and it's that he believes he's not ready to start and he's not versatile enough to be an active backup. I've explained it more than once. I'm not going to bother doing so again. You just clearly don't understand the point that I'm making.
