Makes your Chet take make sense now. Appreciate this.

He's done a good job developing players but his in game coaching is trash. I've been patient waiting for that to improve because a lot of the drafted players have improved individually.  Maybe that's just Mitch consistently drafting well and no credit should be given to jb. I don't know

I've given a ton of credit to Mitch. I cannot however give much to JB. The defense is still a disaster. The consistent inconsistency from this team. This team won 10 more games, but still was a 10 seed and still got blown out in a Play-In game. At some point, something has got to give.

I think this notion that Borrego is somehow developing these guys is false.  The players are developing themselves.

THIS I agree with. I don't believe Kai Jones nor Bouknight have developed at all under JB. If anything he's hindered their development.

Oubre needs to go as well. He was playing lights out first half of season and played hero ball in the second half and bricked damn well every shot.

We better not bring Oubre back, he is part of the problem, dude just throws up 3's and has not idea how to play D. Selfish ass soft players are not what this team needs.

Steve Clifford had a better career winning % with the Hornets than Borrego currently has with the Hornets… yet we moved on from Clifford but can’t seem to move on from JB? This is some Stockholm Syndrome poo… get a young up and coming coach like Cassell or Ham… not someone completely out of left field.

Well, Clifford was canned because he wanted to draft Donovan Mitchell while MJ and his Bitch Cho wanted Malik Monk. See how that turned out?

    • Canales up first. Guys got their legs back yesterday and started a little slow when they came out Bryce challenged them in the huddle and they responded "Dominant practice for the defense today." Praised turnovers, "beautiful hits," and being physical Praised Moehrig, Ransom, Incoom, and Jones II Confirmed playing starters. Predominantly a young team and can't pass up an opportunity. Emphasized game day routines such as nutrition, body readiness, etc. Plus it's a bunch of new guys on the defense. Bryce will start. Will play them the first two, but starters might sit for the third game depending on how practice goes that week. Nic Scourton has a mild hamstring that happened in special teams. DJ Johnson had an issue with his hip flare up and is getting checked out this afternoon. Experimenting with approach to preseason games. In Seattle they played their starters in all but the last preseason game and what Pete Carroll was looking for in terms of mental readiness to play football. Thomas Incoom has been getting a lot of work with AC Carter adding to his toolbelt. Getting better as a rusher and being physical in the run game. Looking for a consistency in response. 1pt for a win, 3pts for a TD. Defense doesn't like that, but in games if they give up one go ball the score can swing. They challenged the pass game and the run game today. Guys are getting together before, between, and after team drills to challenge each other Job of the coaching staff to set the foundation for our schemes, philosophy, and expectations of what it's like to play Panthers football. Powerful when players take that and the locker room owns it. That's when it becomes our team, their team. At the end of the day, the men on the field have to rebound from a bad play, celebrate the good plays, and keep each other in tune for a whole game. Robert Hunt is amazing. Size, talent, quickness, flexibility. Really intelligent guy that there will say himself there are technique things he needs to work on. Regardless of where players are at, there's a constant learning curve and loves that Big Rob is challenging himself with the position coach. Thinks the digital down and distance can be really valuable. Getting the information quickly will help with the flow of the game. Thought TMac looked great but there were some near misses that he'll have to get in the room and communicate with Bryce on while reviewing film. James Mitchell keeps doing right and his trust factor is increasing with the QBs. If you're right and the coverage says the ball goes there, it'll come. Had some issues at the start of camp but is trending up. Newton or Person: "It looked like today was beyond thud but short of live. What do you call that?" Canales: "No, that's thud. In my mind, that's what thud should look like. The challenge for our defensive guys is can you put your body in a position where we know that would've been a tackle." Whizzing by, tagging with two hands, etc doesn't show you whether you would've made a tackle. That's not real football. Let's the play extend because guys have to be ready to chase sometime where the ball squirts out from a pit. Can't train to say "Ah, it was a tackle" and relax but instead play with intensity through the whistle. Lathan Ransom is bringing the physical style of play that they saw on film. Has been really into the details and someone that they can count on. Has really given himself a chance to start at the other safety position. Excited for the extra energy from a game-like environment that they'll get from FanFest. Used to have four preseason games and now FanFest feels like that first one. Will give ST full speed reps to evaluate. Making plays and feeding off of the fans. Window closed quickly on the INT to finish practice. CSW baited Bryce with some movement and made a great play. Saw it from Bryce's perspective with TMac coming open. Has played all over the secondary that they can count on to speak loudly and be on the same page with his teammates.
