yeah that one

Eflin and Miller...  Miller passes off his guy to Eflin.. Eflin gets blasted and  "thrown" into the pocket totally closing that lane and escape route.. Miller can't  get back to 93 on the stunt.. 93 gets Darnold by the leg as he trying to get out the other way where Cam and Moton are battling.. Darnold slowed by 93 around his legs gets Horse collared by Cam...

The blame should again be on Miller and Eflin not being able to block the same DT stunt they've lost to Atleast 20x this season..

I dont get all the x is a LT now but will be better at guard or RT in the NFL.    Kiper said Slater would move to guard in the NFL and he is now a pro bowl LT.  I think it comes down to coaching.  I did see Neal body slam a pass rusher on Sat.  Just got underneath his shoulder pads and lifted him up.  It was glorious

Neal is glorious. Pair him with brown on the right. Let moton and Brady man the left. Find a center. Still not sold this works out year one as the C is still a poo show (elf, Erving, draft, FA) and a huge part to make the right line calls (kalil was a master at this).

I would play bully ball with that line if they could get a center to go with them.

The one where eflin got thrown on his ass is that the one you're talking about??

did Elflein guy get the sack?  no, so you can't assign it to him

Actually Elflein probably got a neutral grade on that play.  He blocked his guy ok, Miller's guy's acutally got past Miller and peeled off and basically blindsided Elflein.  That would happen to most centers and honestly his guy still got pushed back behind Sam.

I'm not saying the line did great but who the sack is attributed to is irrelevant.  From a grading perspective, which all teams do after the game, Jordan probably got a negative grade for giving up the early pressure that caused Sam to run into the sack.  Miller might have got a negative grade also for letting his man cross his face so easy and getting depth.

that still doesn't say who to assign the sack to.

Also Sam is starting to leave the pocket when 73's man dives at his legs.

Here again I'm not saying the line did great on the play, you are the one caught up who to assign the sack to, which you still haven't answered.

Okay agree to disagree.. I think you can blame more then 1 player for certain failures in plays.. my opinion..

Eflin getting thrown by a LB into the pock6rt is a failure on that play..

I said it 4x in the breakdown.. Moton man got the sacked but it was the Interior of Miller and Elfin that failed in that play...

no, it was Jordans man that caused the initial pressure that started the entire chain of events that caused the sack.

Watch the play in slow motion, Sam starts to leave the pocket when Jordan's defender dives at his legs and that is even before Elflein gets pushed to the side of him.  Also most centers in that situation are going to get pushed back if they get hit unexpected from the side like he was.  Maybe that is poor communication but that is on Miller to communicate that his guy is looping, Elflein isn't even looking that way.

Jordan easily got beat the worst on the play.

Agree to disagree... Jordan and his defender 92 makes Sam side step.. Sam has to jump the fug out of the way when Elfin body flys at him like Jazzy jeff  on the fresh prince..

I hope they don’t try to get cute and mix it up like this. Moton is a great RT and ok LT. I’m not a fan of drafting a RT at 6 that might be an upgrade over Moton and then playing Moton out of position. If we draft Neal he needs to be our LT and hopefully a great one. LT Neal, LG BC, RT Moton would he a good core with a FA G/C plus late rounder to compete with Brown.

    • I see they blamed Slavin for the goal like I did.
    • See this is the problem, you say "can't get off the line quick" and "can't separate quick" but in reality it's "he can get off the line better and create more separation" which are two completely different things. If he couldn't get off the line or separate, he wouldn't have put up the numbers he did and end up a Top 10 pick. But he can get better, and maybe more accurately, consistent with them both, and that will take his game to the next level.  These are things that are also much easier to improve once you get to the NFL than things like being a poor route runner or having bad hands, two of his strengths. Thinking he can't get open in the short passing game also shows you haven't watched enough tape on him, as he was used in that role so much in college with little issue getting open and making plays. And him not using his physicality as much isn't even something that hurts his game because he's so much more agile than a player of his size should be, which he used to his advantage.  Instead of throwing passes where he'd go up and box out a player like a TE or Mike Evans does, they use his athleticism and put the ball in places that only he can get to it, and he usually does (and yes, he'll still be able to do that against NFL DB's with his catch radius). But now that he's in the NFL, I'd like to see him get stronger and add that to his game because it also will help him take his game to another level. As I've said before, if he doesn't improve on those things at all, I think he's a Top 25 WR in this league, he's already that good.  But I think he'll improve on those things and be a perennial Top 10 WR and in his prime is considered and perform like Top 5 guy in some years. My expectations for him this year at 800 yards and 8 TDs (although I do think he'll get to 10 TDs) with a real chance at getting to 1,000.  But those expectations are because I think Thielen will lead the team in yards with close to 1k and XL/Coker each end up in the 500-600 range themselves, just too many mouths to feed this year for a rookie to dominate yardage, especially if we're running the ball well again. But if Thielen can't stay healthy or puts up sub 750 yards, then yea, my expectations for T-Mac likely shift to getting to 1k as a rookie.
    • Svech only 1 goal behind the guy they've pretty much already given the Conn Smythe to...
