At this point anyone advocating for any of these dudes at 6 are either delusional of family members.  Its painfully obvious now that the scouts and analysts are digging into the film that none of these guys on the surface is worth a poo.  Next year, on paper, looks to have more potential and overall better prospects then this class

If you are looking at practices, Willis stole the show. We had a few threads of nothing but praise about him. They were calling day 2 “Willis Day.”

He "stole the show" in regards to being better then the other scrubs that where there.  People are saying he had the 5 best throws in each day of practice but on the flip side he also had the 5 worst in each day in practice.  Willis at 6 is how you crater your franchise

With the right coach, the right offense built around him and a lot of team patience, Willis could turn into a great QB.

Just don't look for any of that to occur in Carolina.  But somewhere else Willis could thrive.

He wasnt great at Auburn and he wasnt great at Liberty.  I wouldnt want to gamble my teams future on that.  It would make no sense picking willis when Fields was staring at you last draft.  Build the line and move on down the road

I totally agree.  Take an LT at #6 and go with the strength of the draft, also solving a team need that has existed for years.  

I'm just saying Willis has some really good qualities and IT'S POSSIBLE he develops well.  But a lot of "ifs" have to go right for him so it's more likely Willis just busts and ends up in the CFL.

They stated that Howell and Willis looked great at practice. He did say Malik started off with some fastballs but settled down quickly. WOW was posting these practice clips/comments as they were happening. 
-The practice is more important than the game. Ok here is where Willis dominated practice. He only looked good because the others sucked. 
I understand you not wanting a QB this year. There is no clear cut favorite QB and our line needs a lot of work. Plus Rhule is still our coach. However, you can’t change the narrative of Willis crushing the practices. He did what he needed to do.

He stole the show for the things that put him on the radar. Excellent athlete and crazy arm.

Now the negatives......SUPER suspect decision making and if people ragged on Zach Wilson for performing poorly versus good competition, Willis was far worse. It's not clear he is more than a one read guy, either.

There was no way for him to show improvement on that in the Senior Bowl Practices. I know he had a poo OL and not much talent to work with at Liberty and still beat Syracuse, VA Tech, won a shoot out against McCall (who people are wanting) at Coastal. Yeah he looked bad against Ole Miss and that SEC defense, but I’m not sure what he could have done given what he was working with.

He for sure could have not thrown some of the completely insane INTs he did against just about all high caliber D1 talent.

If you want to gamble on a guy in this class, he is the one. But you'd be nuts or desperate to do it with a 1st round pick if you need immediate help.

His floor is really, really low.

No veteran trade. No trade back. No rookie QB. He will take the top player on the board (which I suspect will be Cross, Neal, or Ekwonu) and tell Rhule to make it work with the QB he asked for. Darnold or the door for Rhule. He made his bed imo.

Okay, so I watched one game of Matt Corral now. All I can say is he has an amazing arm. His offensive line, and receivers, were so good though that it just looked easy for him. I feel like at worst he's going to be an NFL backup for years. Someone will try and coach him up if for nothing more than his arm talent.

      Director of College scouting should be next. I'd like to see the organization go after Senior Bowl Director Jim Nagy who's a good friend of Dan Morgan back in their time in Seattle

      I always just go back to what I said at the time. Trade Burns to the Rams because it's a fantastic deal. I was screaming it. I'm still angry at Fitt over that. Right after he turned down the deal I said he needed to get into a time machine and go back and make the deal. Hate that dude. Ruined our team. Trading D.J was a major mistake because what matters most in the NFL is the passing game, so you never unload a proven #1 WR when there are other options. Always trade a defensive player over a WR if you have that option available. Fitt was precious about defensive players when we had a passing offense that didn't function. That's how know he was completely incompetent. The passing offense is the top priority, so until that is functioning all defensive players are possible trade fodder. At this point we're in a rebuilding year under a new GM and a QB who looks absolutely horrendous. It makes perfect sense, if you follow all of our moves, that we would be the worst team in the NFL. Of course we are. You can't screw up as a GM that many times over the years and not ruin the franchise. We're exactly where we should be, dead last, or bottom 3. Whichever you like. But this is the here and now. Dan did a good job getting our 2nd round pick back, and we won't know about the picks until they take the field in regular season games. We're in dark until then, but if they suck the Panthers media will hide it shamelessly. Remember when Young was supposed to be a football genius? Yeah he was rancid turds out there when live fire started. There is some hope. Either Young improves and we win more games, or he stays about the same and we draft a new QB in 2025. Either way the NFL will help us out of this jam, but all we need is for Dan not to screw it up.
