If we draft a QB, I want Carson Strong

There is a lot of speculation in that article.  But the big thing to me is the doctor is comparing the surgery to non nfl players.  What is considered a success or if the knee will "hold up" is drastically different for a guy thats going to play professional football.

Everything is speculation at this point.

Yeah, but comparing to other injuries and labeling it degenerative would all be speculation at this point.

I know what you are saying but if he has had what 3 surgeries on said knee and the last one is replacing cartilage.  I most certainly without a shadow of a doubt say his knee is not getting better and in fact getting worse.  Making it arthritic and degenerative.  But we will find out come combine time.

Davis just had acl tears

Really? Just ACL tears. And people that thought he wouldn’t recover were speculating. Right? An actual Dr. thinks he has a good shot of being fine long-term, but they are speculating, while just saying 3 surgeries has him doomed as a fact. It’s a risk either way, but not a certainty. How many games has he missed?

To be fair Davis is considered the aberration and not the norm

And to be fair, medical recovery from knee injuries makes progress every year. His could be shot. Who really knows. But he recovered in the 6-month side of “6-12 months” on the second one. Had a scope which is nothing. And didn’t miss a game his last 2 years. To say his knee can’t hold up is a guess just like the speculation from the Doc. Mobility can be an asset, but it’s far from a requirement for success in an NFL QB.

He does not do well under pressure, and cannot evade it, not a good combination. He also has shown he has trouble executing outside of the pocket at all, to include boot legs. Injury history is the cherry on top. A big pass for me, you cannot operate in the NFL as a young QB with no mobility or ability to make plays outside the pocket, it just doesn't work.

I know Willis is your guy. Who else do you like in this QB class. I’m probably (In order) Willis, Howell, Pickett, Corral/Strong, Ridder with a strong curiosity on Glass.

    • I thought this presented an interesting point. It is fair to wonder now, about switching the two QBs as so many tried to do that first year where Bryce was trash and CJ looked great.  It is almost the reverse scenario now and I wonder what CJ would look like here with better weapons better coaching and better protection. Overall, compared year one.  If each player had been in the other place for the three years. I would love to see CJ with this team now.  Just to see.
    • I really have no clue what to expect sunday.  To quote one of my favorite bands of all time, Operation Ivy "All I know is that I dont know".  We could win, hell we could win convincingly, we also could lose in blowout fashion.  We could be in a back and forth game with whoever has the ball last winning.  I legit HAVE NO CLUE.  This isnt the dominant bills teams of the past, Allen is still elite and can win any game by himself.  That said, heres my stab at looking at things. Our defense is made to stop this kind of team.  Strong against the run, a great corner but meh talent around the field.  We've stopped prolific run offenses this season.   Javonte Williams - Season low yards and ypa against us. De'Von Achane - Season low yards and ypa against us Breece hall - 3rd worst yards in a game Fact of the matter is, we arent what we were last year, we are a good run defense and that lines up well against the bills, Stop the run.  For once the lack of moving Jaycee might be a good thing, he will essentially lock down a side and without multiple real weapons thats fine.  Buffalo does not have an elite guy, theyve got a gaggle of average dudes.  Allen will stay away from Jaycee, it will be on Mike Jack and Chau Smith Wade do to their part and they will be matched with guys they can play at the level of. On offense, we do what the bills are bad at.  We run the ball well, and they suck at stopping the run.  Rico and Chuba will need 30 carries.  Andy Dalton will need to be opportunistic.  My big fear is what we learned last year, Dalton can get overconfident and make bonehead throws.  Its this simple.  Run the ball, stop the run.  Dont turn the ball over.  If we do these 3 things, we will be in a position to win in the 4th quarter.
    • This makes me wish we took a flyer on Quinn Ewers late in the draft
