My ironclad prediction is as follows

2 firsts

2 seconds

Brian Burns

Jeremy Chinn

Ive been very vocal about my thoughts on 2022 draft class, hell I may have started the trend if you go back in the draft forum and look at the old QB thread near the top.

  • Personally Id rather use ANY&ALL draft capital that would be used on Watson, on QBs while keeping the players. The 1st in 2023=QB, 2nd = QB etc etc. That means I have a 1/4 or 1/6 of hitting on the QB rather than paying Mr. tiny towel. Plus that QB is on a rookie deal, if I hit on more that one, I WOULD TRADE ONE FOR A HAUL. IMO and all

Lol is that a serious question? The most recent Super Bowl champs haven’t had a first in like 7 years…

Thats an aberration not the norm and plus they have drafted really well leading up to that point.

We are looking at no firsts or seconds for a while and we are going to be up against the cap for the foreseeable future

Well, there are rounds 2-7, undrafted free agents, regular free agent signings and other trades. It’s very short sighted to think that the only way you can build a successful team is to draft guys in the first. And how often do those guys even hit? 50% of the time maybe?

NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah reports the “expectation around the league” is the Seahawks will trade for Texans QB Deshaun Watson.

Seattle has been exploring trade scenarios for Watson, with Watson expected to be traded ahead of the new league year now that his legal situation is resolved. The Seahawks have the draft capital for a Watson trade after moving on from Russell Wilson, which landed them two top-40 picks in April's draft. Watson is seven years younger than Wilson and would allow Seattle to contend this season while setting them up for the future. The Panthers and Steelers have also been connected to Watson, who has a full no-trade clause. Watson is still subject to the NFL’s personal conduct policy, but there’s a chance the league waits until his civil cases are resolved before making a decision. Sitting out of 2021 could work in Watson’s favor of returning without a suspension.

If the proposed trade goes through we will not have firsts or 2nds for a time and we will have holes on the oline, dline, linebacker and safety positions as well as having to sign moore on top of cmacs crazy ass deal.   Maybe you can see a way out of this mess if we trade for watson but it looks like a lump of poo to me.  Giving up our best defensive players and multiple years of day 1 and 2 picks is a tough hole to dig out of

I mean the whole picture is one of the best HCs, best defender since LT, offensive that changed the whole league. Unlike Marky Herniay they draft super well in with 2-7 round picks. Overall coaching staff is great. Thus FAs want to come there too. Robert Woods was meh at Bufflao and once he came to them, he was just as good if not better than MVP Kupp prior to this year. Ramsey is best cover CB in the league. Whitworth found Tom Bradys vampire blood formula.

Well if oline and a bad defense rhule us out, they rule Seattle out as well. Hope we enjoy Darnold and Kenny Pickett and then some other rando QB in 3 years.

    • Lions were never going Freeling over Miller for the same reason we wouldn't have taken Miller had Freeling not been on the board. Miller is a career RT Lions have a hole at RT, we have a hole at LT. If we took Miller, it would have been for him to backup Moton until he retires and/or we release him, so the best case scenario is it would have been a wasted 1st round pick for at least 1, if not 2 years.  At least Freeling has a shot at playing this year without injury ahead of him, he absolutely can win the LT job if he earns it, but Miller would have never supplanted Moton this year unless he got hurt.
    • What up y’all. I like threads like this where we can stroll down memory lane. I remember the insane amount of site traffic pre-crash when we signed Keyshawn Johnson, 06 I believe. Raging about the Cowboys Christmas Eve loss in 05 (Peppers touched that FG attempt as sure as Cotchery caught it). When I found the huddle I basically had a first born baby, now I’ve got one in college and one in high school. Life comes at you fast, but the Panthers and the Huddle has been a steady constant in my life for many years.  Those who have been here, y’all are cool with me any time any where.    Cheers, genitals!
    • This is a weird post since it wasn’t like we got A’s across the board. We needed a QB and got a consensus top 2 player at that position. (I was pretty vocal that Stroud should’ve been the guy but…)  I think this draft we generally got better value. I’m not particularly optimistic on BY but another year in this offense playing with TMac he really needs to be a consistently average QB at a minimum
