A lot of the greatest qbs of all time had plenty of physical limitations.   Brees and Brady for example.  Neither were mobile.  Neither had especially strong arms.

Brees coming out had a incredible arm coming out of Purdue. AND his arm even after shoulders surgery was way better then Minshew. And Brady while not being a great athlete is 6'5 235 so prototypical QB size..

I know Minshew is your regular guy hero.. But some of you need to watch Brees before 2017 - 2018 and stop trying to make this comparison..

Give up, man. Watson got everything he wanted.

He certainly secured a sweet agreement, no doubt...

...let's see if he can live up to the personal demands required to collect on the contract...

...in order to do so he's gonna have to modify his behaviour -- guys with a god-complex + monstrous contract often have trouble doing so... 🧐

I've been wanting him on this team ever since I say him play the Panthers as a rookie.  If we are committed to building a solid O-line, he can sling it.  Watch this tape.  Notice his demeanor in the pocket under pressure.  Look at his footwork as he throws.  10X better than Darnold.  I would gladly send pick #149 to the Eagles for him.  This would allow snag a top 3 LT, an Edge rusher, or Hamilton at 6.  Worst case you have a solid back up when you give him the original round tender after this season.  I would take him over Baker, over the cost to get Jimmy G, and any of the rookies in this class.

He got traded to a team he approved and he got a huge guaranteed contract. You were wrong about it and can’t handle it. It doesn’t matter if he can “live up” to it because it is guaranteed.

Your opinion.. Give me the physicality talented player and a good QB developer.. You get a super star..

Get a Minshew you're  constantly trying to cover up his limitations until you get a better player...

A waste of time..

So you like Willis? Assuming McAdoo and Ryan can develop him of course…

Yes.. But if we grab Pickett I won't rage eat about it.. Because he has the size and his arm is good enough even thoe I hate his low ceiling..

You're kidding yourself...

..."guaranteed" that contract is rife with morals-clauses and any number of outs should Mr. Whip-It-Out continue to walk outside the boundaries of normal (and legal) human behaviour 🤙

I like Wills,  Strong , or Howell..

I would sign Mariota before trading for Minshew..

I'll admit.. I love Love and if compensation is a 4th or lower I would trade for him.. Let him and Sam battle it out.. And depending what happens this season.. Wait till next year and let the new coach pick his QB..

I like Willis, trade down for Howell, and I can live with Pickett.  Mariota really wouldn't be that bad I know some people on here were against it, but he has the size, speed, and has had some success in the league already.

I really don't have an issue with the Love idea.  If Love can be had for cheap (4th round or so), I could see giving him a shot.  The major red flag to me is how far GB went to keep Rodgers vs rolling with their young talented QB.  Rodgers is getting up there in age and they could have still got a huge return for him.  I mean they let Favre go to roll with Rodgers so they aren't afraid if they are confident in the next guy.  However, Love has talent and if he is terrible you let him walk when his rookie deal is up (one or two years left without picking up the 5th) and take a shot at the next draft class with our new coach.  It would allow up to BPA with our first rounder pick (probably a pass rusher or OT).

He got the contract he wanted for a team he wanted.  You are looking desperate hoping he has some additional conduct issue that in listed in said contract that would negate it.  Unfortunately he is too talented of a player at a premium position and teams are going to look past these off field issues.  He strong armed the Texans owner and it worked despite how much you didn't want it to.  Russ also got traded after requesting a trade.  How does that make you feel?

41 tds and 12 interceptions in his 22 career starts.  What skill players did he have in those starts with the Jags or the Iggles?

Get him for a 5th and worst case you have a good backup.  Best case, you could have something if put behind a solid line with some weapons.

I really am in favor of this.

Oh it's faaaaaarrr from over🤦‍♂️, hell the green flag hasn't even been waved yet 🤣...

Guarantee you that contract has a bevy of morals clauses & potential outs built into it --- Mr. Whip-It-Out is gonna have to toe clearly defined line in the sand...

...will be interesting to see if he can control his urges, LOL 😂

(not to mention the massive 🎯 he now has on his back 🧐)

    • TAMU had such a weird draft. Usually you'd be bragging your ass off about three DL drafted in the top two rounds except that the narrative around all three was about how badly they were misused by TAMU. LOL
    • Many Panthers fans are already excited about second-round selection Nic Scourton for a variety of reasons including but not limited to: the Panthers needed to recharge the position group, Scourton had a late first-round grade according to many (including the Panthers), and he fit this season's modus operandi of stopping the run now and forever. However, Scourton was seen early on as one of the top-3 EDGE guys in this class but fell due to not having quite the season at Texas A&M as he did prior at Purdue (his sophomore season). It's been revealed since then a few different things that speak to that dip in production... Texas A&M, for one, requires each player on their line to be able to hold two gaps. This also explains why we saw low production across the board from the other two TA&M prospects but were still being heavily touted. Scourton was also said to have bulked up to 280lbs in order to fulfill this role and noticeably suffered from it. He's expected to play this season with Carolina at 255 - 260 which is very different from most situations. In most situations, teams are wanting players to gain 15 - 30. Since Scourton is going to be playing at his Purdue weight, I thought it would make sense to dive more into that tape. Y'all... we might have gotten something special... Let's take a quick peek at the stats before we start drooling over some highlights. First, a summary of the last two seasons for Scourton: Second, the game splits: The first thing that pops up for me is how Scourton's sack numbers were cut in half his senior year. We've already pointed out issues with scheme that impacted the TA&M linemen from racking up numbers, but seeing the game splits it's clear that Scourton didn't exactly feast on inferior competition while at Purdue. He had two two-sack games (vs. Michigan (2023 - 2024 champs), Indiana) and a 10-tackle game (vs. Nebraska). I also see the 2024 games where he went up against two top-10 tackles (Will Campbell from LSU + Armand Membou from Missouri) that I watched leading up to the draft.  For those who just want a summary: Scourton looked elite at Purdue and is going to be rotating in often during his rookie campaign. I originally had him penciled in as the second-string, strong-side edge defender behind Clowney but I wouldn't be surprised to see the team have him and Pat Jones II moving around when they rotate in in order to find where Nic looks best. Here's a highlight reel to replace that Cialias you lost in your recliner tonight:   For those that want a little more: Below I'll be linking the linking the five games I've mentioned above. If you plan to watch all of them, I highly recommend going in the order listed as that will allow you to see him vs. Campbell and then Membou while dealing with the aforementioned things he dealt with at Texas A&M before seeing him look unstoppable in 2023 when he was allowed to play both at a comfortable weight and in a scheme that didn't require him two cover two gaps nearly every play. vs. Will Campbell (2024) vs. Armand Membou (2024) vs. Nebraska (2023) vs. Michigan (2023)   vs. Indiana (2023)
    • Yea, i honestly think he had almost as much say as Dan.  One of the main reasons I think that is Eager has said before he was ever with the Panthers, that you trade away picks for a qb and for any other position you do pick swaps, and that's exactly what we did.
