I see now. Point still stands, the Browns have to pay a team to take Baker. He has too much money guaranteed.

How much do we have to pay to get rid of Darnold? could be a three way trade where the Texans take Darnold for a draft pick, we take Mayfield for whatever pick swap the Browns offer

Word is baker was gonna sit out even before the watson trade came about. He was prepared to sit out all year. Dont want this guy.

Which conveniently only comes out AFTER the Watson trade. That is 100% a leak from the Browns front office and more than likely not true just being used as justification for the trade after they've been dragged on the internet not only for acquiring Watson but structuring his contract in a way he faces little to no penalty for his inevitable suspension.

The takes just a month ago were praising Baker for his grit and toughness playing through his injury that should have ended his season in week 2. Belive the exact quote from a teammate was "You could cut his dick off and he wouldn't fuging say poo"

I'll take that attitude every day of the week and twice on Sundays.

Sorry for that double post but yeah hes a very immature guy so he's HIGHLY pissed right now and highly motivated. He'll also be healthy next year bc he had a shoulder injury this year that should've shut him down for the season. I don't care for him long term but for one year, hell yeah. I'd give then a mid round pick for him if we can keep 6 overall and still draft Charles Cross. Might catch lightning in a bottle. But not for the 6th.

As for why anyone would want him, he played great at Oklahoma and does have a nice arm when he sets his feet but he's limited athletically and overconfident. He also didn't throw to O'Dell, who's actually still good. That's a red flag bc OBJ can still play. But if you support him with a solid running game and he's healthy you can have some success. One year deal to compete with Darnold, sure.

    • Yes, he's a tier above them, but you also touched on the money side of it.  With T-Mac locked in as our #1 on a rookie contract for a few more years, I'd much rather use that money that would be needed for DJ on our defense and develop Coker into our #2.   Especially given his contract situation as an UDFA, as his contract is up at the end of this year but we can keep him around for a 3rd team controlled year on the real cheap.  Which means we probably could get him to sign a very reasonable extension this offseason to give him a little more money while giving us a bargain contract for what he provides. DJ's contract is north of $20 million for the next 5 years, why pay that for your #2 WR with the needs we have on defense and you have guys like Coker, XL, and Horn on rookie contracts who very well could combine to be a serviceable 2-4 WRs behind a stud in T-mac? I love DJ and he'd be a great fit on this team as our #2, but the money side of it just makes absolutely zero sense, that's all it comes down to for me on this one. And no, I don't see the Bears wanting XL back in that trade, because they drafted Burden, who is essentially a better version of what XL provides, a player you want to get the ball into their hands and let them go to work.
    • I didnt see that many bad calls in the panthers cowboys game, but the chiefs especially in the playoffs were getting every single call they could get then the refs when it didnt matter would throw a call towards the other teams.  That I believe was the taylor swift effect.   But its crazy just thinking about how easy it is to change a game.  You dont need but a single ref to make a few close calls go towards one team over the other and in the nfl that is the game.
    • I don't think it's unrealistically blaming Bryce Young......to say has been a reason, sometimes a big one, in why our pass offense overall has been extremely week over the past 3 collective seasons.  I think that bothering anyone, is just being overly invested in some Bryce Young argument.  It's just a reality.
