Person asks about GM / Head Coach "alignment"

From what I read, it sounds like Fitterer wants to do things "the right way", i.e. draft a quarterback and build around him (with Person noting that a lot of the pieces have already been put in place this offseason).

Rhule and Tepper, on the other hand, seem to be wanting to win now. Rhule especially so because he needs to save his job.

Basically, it sounds like if we draft a quarterback it'll mean Fitterer won the debate. If we sign a free agent or trade for one, it'll be Matt Rhule.

If rumors are accurate, Hurney wanted to trade up to get Herbert. Obviously Rhule was not in agreement and we have Brown.

It’s a catch-22.  First round Hurney is amazing, but trade-up Hurney is horrific.  Which would prevail?

This offseason has a different feel than last.  I really think Fitt is making most of the calls (with Dan Morgan being in there, too) and hoping it stays that way.  Rhule’s lack of NFL experience was blatantly obvious to everybody except David Tepper, so he may have made some changes to let the big boys who know what they’re doing take charge.  We’ll probably never know

That’s why we got Fitt in there making all the decisions this time around.

Do we know this?  I really don't know, but Rhule may try to intervene on draft day.

Jesse's assertion is #fakenews🤦‍♂️

"He and Fitterer both report to Tepper, but Rhule's in charge. Rhule and Fitterer have a good and complementary relationship, and the chemistry and respect they have shown as they get to know each other seems genuine. But yeah, if you want to make a chart, Rhule is the top non-Tepper name on it."

Makes sense since a rookie QB isn’t going to amass the wins Rhule needs to stay afloat and he might not be here to “develop” one.

    • Appreciate you, brother!  I know it was lengthy, but I felt whoever actually read it would appreciate it.
    • Damn good take, brother.  I think I take that poo personally because (sidebar: I don’t like to use narcissist often because social media has made it a buzzword and diluted the meaning, so when I use it, I don’t take it lightly) I grew up in a home with a raging narcissist, then married a narcissist and just came out of a divorce after a 20 year marriage with her, where afterwards she met and married another narcissist.🤣  And in my dealings with them, over my 41 years on this earth, at times I took great delight in breaking down their arguments point by point and forcing them to either acknowledge their wrongs and take ownership of them or watch them yammer and stammer away when they ran out of lies and excuses.  At various points, that was extremely satisfying, but ultimately, which I’ve realized especially after the last 3 years and going through the divorce and everything, it does NOTHING to them.  It doesn’t affect them one way or another.  For a logical, reasonable, grounded person, you would think calling them in their poo will bring it to their attention when they’re face when nothing but facts and truth and force them to change, but nope.  Not in the slightest.  They just disassociate from the ones who do that and find more people who will validate their behaviors and thinking.  poo pisses me off because they’re so destructive and couldn’t care less so long as their needs are met.
