He's not wrong. He shows good pre snap communication, I've always been a little impressed by it save for the false start the other evening.

That said, it's everything post sanp (plus I think his height doesn't help, that 1st int against the pats I think an o-lineman blocked his line of sight lol) that makes me concerned.

I believe he's taller than Baker.

Yeah I thought it looked like he was diagnosing and communicating pre snap better than Sam seemed to be before the injury. He just seems to have 1 of those INT's every preseason game.

Maybe? I know Baker's listed at 6'1 but I remember him being closer to 5'11-6'0 around the draft, which would be the same height that P.J. is listed.

Thing is some QBs can play short, others can't.  I don't think P.J. is one of those guys.

He said the exact same thing abt Ickey right before he gave him the starting job. How is that throwing him under the bus by saying "He has more work to do"?

I get you like Corral but goddamn man.

I said he will. Not he did. Future tense. Based on him throwing Cam under the bus last season and other etcs.

That's a negative, Baker is 2 inches taller.

Also:

Our "backup" QB throws half as many TD's and twice the INT's (as percentages) as Sam Darnold.  I gotta believe we can do better.  Our PUNTER can probably do better tbh.

Yeah I agree there are dudes getting cut today who are better backups. Dinucci would instantly be our second best until Sam is back. And Dinucci we could keep long term after we release sam next year

    • I presented that scenario because this is a home game and we seemed to have improved in some capacity in that area as of recently. The problem with the possibility of sweeping the Bucs is this team has had a habit of quickly falling victim to momentum shifts. The Bucs are coming off a bitter loss the same as the Panthers but the Bucs have a much better proven track record this time of year and they have performed when the pressure is on unlike our Panthers. We have a shot against the Seahawks here in BOA but that is a matchup that could quickly get out of hand because they are a well coached team and that goes back to the momentum shifts I mentioned. I just don't see this team beating the Bucs in their stadium to close the season. Tall order to say the least.
    • I’d give it another year for Sanders and Evans, I don’t much care what you do with Tremble’s spot. Let him have another year or maybe replace him. Haven’t looked at his contract so that may be the determining factor.
    • Following the crazy up down pattern we finish 9-8 with an improbable sweep of TB, and lay an egg in the home playoff game.  I don’t know if I can sign on to sweeping TB but I suppose it’s possible, they aren’t really that good this year.    ps I can buy beating TB Sunday and losing to Seattle.  Then it just gets to can you fluke one game. Any given Sunday. So we’ll see.
