Sam sucks but Eason is not good.  If you've seen him play, you know who he is.  Neither of them are the future.

I don't anyone said he was the future, but he damn sure looked better than PJ "I can't hit a bull in the butt with a banjo" Walker.

Sam sucks we agree but you're going to base Eason off a 1/2 a quarter.  Come on.  At least, give it a complete game with a week with the starting team before you trash him to the junk pile.  He's practice squad for a reason and expectations are pretty low.  Honestly, I'd rather take a good look at him going into the offseason.  We're going to need a competent backup.

Why? Can he not audition for the backup job for when we draft a new QB?

Hell no.  This dude needs to be off our roster stat.   He isn't good at this game of football.  There is absolutely no need to play him as it doesn't help anyone.  A new staff is not signing sam fuging Darnold to back up and mentor a rookie

There is absolutely no reason he ever sees the field again in carolina

Mayfield or Eason.  If you're talking Mayfield I agree.

If you are talking Eason, what harm would it do to give him this week to show what he can do?  Absolutely none, unless you still think we can compete for a playoff spot.

    • They are likely to trade back, nobody in this T30 looks like a #19 pick.
    • We are going to have to part with those contracts anyway at the latest, after 2027.    Here’s what I think about sinking another 1st into WR: the cumulative passing yards won’t be affected that much. Yards and targets will just be redistributed. Because Bryce can’t play the ‘beat you with his arm’ type of game against 3/4 of the league. Only the weak sisters. Make us one dimensional and the QB hasn’t shown he is up to that. So we have to run a ton. It’s just how it is and the typical Sunday will have lower passing numbers as a result.  Yeah he did pull off a great 4th quarter vs LAR in November and looked good against them in the rematch. Did people notice that they responded to that by maki g big moves to upgrade their pass defense?  It was a weak unit. Like Atlanta was a weak unit. If he is gonna get better at that vs strong defenses he needs stout protection. Dan showed at first that he understood this, but the OL has been degraded. That room should be maintained as a super strength.    I guess it is ‘chicken or the egg’ re Young or his WRs that are to blame but we have seen three years of Bryce’s act. Couldn’t get a TD for Tet until week 6. That’s OROY too.    That’s where my opinions fall.
