The Canes are in Denver taking on the defending Stanley Cup Champions tonight. Colorado is riding a three game winning streak but that’s largely due to playing two poor teams (Columbus X2 and Nashville).

As for the Canes, Teravainen is now on the shelf and Noesen is expected to be the beneficiary.

Projected Lines:

Svechnikov - Aho - Noesen

Jarvis - Kotkaniemi - Necas

Martinook - Staal - Fast

Stasnty - Drury - Stepan

Slavin - Burns

Skjei - Pesce

de Haan - Chatfield

Raanta

Kochetkov

Scratches - Coghlan

Injuries - Teravainen

Injured Reserve - Kase, Andersen

LTIR - Pacioretty, Gardiner

Last Time Out: After being held to just one goal in their previous two games, losses to Toronto and Florida, the Canes found their offense Thursday night against Edmonton. Andrei Svechnikov recorded his second hat trick in as many games against the Oilers this season, picking up his 100th career goal on the way. #37's trio was supplemented by goals from all three members of the Jordan Martinook, Jordan Staal and Jesper Fast line, providing Carolina with more than enough offense to earn the victory. The effort was backstopped by Pyotr Kochetkov in his 2022-23 season debut, making 20 stops, including a first period penalty shot against Dylan Holloway.

Super Svech: After starting the season with eight goals in nine games, Andrei Svechnikov had been held out of the goal department for three consecutive games prior to Thursday. He broke out of that minor drought in a major way, becoming just the fifth different player in franchise history to record multiple hat tricks in the same season. His 11 goals now rank third league-wide, trailing only Bo Horvat (12) and Connor McDavid (15).

Numbers For Necas: Martin Necas registered two assists in the win over Edmonton, his sixth multi-point game and fourth multi-assist game in 2022-23, both of which are team highs. His six multi-point outings rank tied for sixth in the NHL this season, trailing only Connor McDavid (EDM, 9), Leon Draisaitl (EDM, 7), Erik Karlsson (SJS, 7), Nathan MacKinnon (COL, 7) and David Pastrnak (BOS, 7).

Don't Overlook The Man Advantage: Brent Burns' power play goal on Thursday gave the Hurricanes a tally on the man advantage in five of their last six games.

Injury Report: Forward Ondrej Kase has been in concussion protocol since October 13. Goaltender Frederik Andersen was placed on injured reserve Friday, retroactive to November 6. Forward Teuvo Teravainen is not expected to play tonight after suffering an upper-body injury in Thursday's victory.

------------------------------------------------

For the Avs, Francouz (0-3-0) was announced as the netminder for tonight.

The Avs are favored, being the current champs as well as being a home game, regardless of their record.

Decided to play nhl 23 for the first time in 2 months and im on the road playing Colorado lol. I was held scoreless into the 3rd period. It was 3-0 Colorado, but then I was able to score 3 straight to go into OT. I lost in OT though from a shot that was blocked with the blocker but still flipped over into the net.

    • People really need to stop placing Dan Morgan on some kind of infallible pedestal. He is absolutely in lockstop with Tepper regarding Bryce and has been all along. As far as the team being okay with 185 passing yards per game. We better have a proven monster RB in our backfield then. Presently that guy is not on the roster. Chuba has one outlier season so far and the other guys have proven nothing. Not what you would call a great recipe. The only thing we can hope at this juncture is that the highest paid OL in the league for the second year in a row elevates their play from last season and opens up some massive holes even our RB's can get through. But it still doesn't resolve the issue of predictability. With no viable passing game it is much easier to shut down any run game. No defenses are scared of Bryce's arm. It is what it is.
    • i lived in Atlanta from 84'to 92' & back then it was indeed a very different time without the internet & access to information 24/7. shortly after i moved back home to western NC around 93' or 94' the Carolina Panthers were awarded an NfL franchise & began their inaugural season in 95' so ike you i have seen the Carolina Panthers, ,the NFL ,technology, fans all evolve over the many a moon & years now some for the better & others not so ...just saying
    • I wouldn't even bet on us winning the NFC South. All four teams had excellent Drafts.
