I'm saying Lamar with his abilities is not going to win a Superbowl.

Running from the QB position in the playoffs has never been fully successful.

It just gets harder to depend on your legs for 30 percent of your production against good teams. They will take that away and you are done.

I thought he would make a leap by now but he hasn't. He's pretty much the same guy he's always been.

You should really stop trying to talk about Lamar like you aren't comically biased in this discussion. You would keep giving atrocious QB's like Sam Darnold chances if you had roster control.

Sometimes I wonder how your brain generates the power to breathe.

I never wanted Sam. I never wanted Teddy. I never wanted Baker.

I only said we have thrown money at Sam we can't get back. We might as roll with him this year and either get the number one pick or go to the playoffs.

What did they do? Wasted the 19mil. Brought in Baker didn’t make the playoffs nor got the number one pick. Lost a pick and wasted more money.

Guys I take over Lamar assuming healthy if I wanted to make a run next year Ala Bucs pre Brady.

Not in any order

Mahomes

Allen

Rogers

Brady

Stafford

Herbert

Burrow

Looking like Jimmy G

Hurts

Tua

Maybe Dak

On same level as Lamar

Cousins

Tannehill

Lawrence

Russ altho this just could be a one off down year historically I take Russ all day long

Guys I wouldn't take over Lamar

Fields

Pickett

Sam

Winston

Mariota

Jones

Wilson

Heineke altho he's moving up

Smith

Brissette

Kyler

So no I don't think he's worth the money or the draft picks when he's equal to or worse than half the league

I'm not trying to be rude but you're possibly certifiable if you think Cousins is as good as Lamar Jackson. Look at the talent pool at QB in the NFC compared to the AFC. You've got fading hall of famers in Brady Rodgers and Stafford. When guys like Kirk Cousins and even Taylor Heinicke can fool people from time to time that says it all. Look at what the Eagles are doing with Hurts and what the Seahawks are doing with Geno Smith. Cousins would get eaten alive going up against Mahomes Allen and Burrow. On the flip side I think with the right team and coach Jackson would be heading to the conference championship in the NFC. But we don't agree that's okay.

If he gets to the Superbowl in the NFC do you see him beating Mahomes, Allen, Burrow, Herbert if it comes down to it?

Do you really see him going 80 90 yards with only 2 min or less in the Superbowl to win or tie?

That's my litmus test. Do I believe this guy can make the game winning drive in the Superbowl. That's where my evaluation begins.

If the answer is no I don't want to draft him or sign him.

Can he get to that point someday? Possibly but he hasn't shown it to me yet.

A fun game to play is swapping QBs on the same rosters. Imagine Lamar with Jefferson, Thielen, Hockenson, and Cook. No imagine Cousins with Andrews and…. Burks??? Lamar IS the Ravens offense and unfortunately all some people can do is read off stats Ave assume they know what they are talking about without any context.

All I know is that if we had a qb worth a f*ck we would have beaten the brakes off the Ravens.

You'd think as Panthers fans we'd be more weary of this considering this very same thing happened with Cam during the majority of his prime by outsiders.

In the playoffs he's beaten all of them?

Nope he hasn't.

And the post was in response to someone projecting him on our team and us winning the Superbowl. Where he would likely face Mahomes Allen or Burrow on the biggest stage.

Let's see what are his playoff stats.

In the playoffs his completion percentage drops to 55.9% abysmal

Yds per game a whopping 225 meh

Passer rating 68.3 that's pathetic

3 td and 5 ints.  That's awful

He has 1 wildcard round win.

Yeah he's worse in the playoffs.

Now do Herbert’s playoff stats since you have him rated higher, oh wait….

    • We've got over 200m, a 1st rounder, and a 3rd rd swing tackle/guard invested in in our oline right now and the shortest line to the QB is through a guy that is being moved to center coming off injury. Taking one of the top centers would be the most unPanther thing the Panthers could ever do.
    • from The Beast (Brugler) on Brooks STRENGTHS: Shifty athlete with outstanding run balance and vision … skillfully presses the hole and sets up defenders with subtle juke steps, forcing tacklers to dive  at ankles (credits Texas RB coach Tashard Choice for developing his elusiveness, especially at the second level) … instantly changes gaps (and frustrates linebackers)  with his explosive jump cuts … able to breeze through arm tackles with his initial acceleration through holes and in/out of his cuts … sticky hands as a receiver with  the body control and catch radius to pull in off-target throws … dangerous target in the flat with his ability to make the first man miss … blocks with the awareness  and toughness needed for pass pro … only one fumble in college … described as a “genuine” person by his teammates and as an “invaluable” leader by head coach  Steve Sarkisian; had such an impact that Sarkisian sent him on the field for the final snap (victory formation) of the 2023 Big 12 Championship Game (just weeks postACL surgery) … averaged north of 6.0 yards per carry in each of his three seasons in Austin.    WEAKNESSES: Tall, well-defined body type but leaner than ideal with inconsistent power and pad level … guilty of making too many moves in the backfi eld when the  read calls for him to get downhill in short yardage … shows patience on one play, not enough the next … bl ocking skill set is promising, but he prefers to slam his  shoulder into blitzers instead of setting up shop and using his hands … saw just 46 snaps on special teams … medical evaluation will be important after he suffered a  torn ACL in his right knee (November 2023), which required surgery and sidelined him for the remainder of the season and the draft process; also battled injury as a  sophomore and had bilateral hernia surgery the day after the bowl game (December 2022), which sidelined him for most of 2023 spring practices … only threequarters of a season’s worth of starting production.    SUMMARY: A one-year starter at Texas, Brooks emerged as the Longhorns’ go-to back in head coach Steve Sarkisian’s spread RPO offense, which utilizes both zone  and gap principles. After two years behind Bijan Robinson and Roschon Johnson, he put together an All-America-level season in 2023 prior to suffering a torn ACL  (ranked top five in the FBS in rushing at the time of his injury). Despite a wide gait and long legs, Brooks is a controlled, instinctive runner who forces missed tackles  with his subtle ability to set up defenders and string together moves with timely, sharp cuts. He can be inconsistent in short-yardage situations but offers third-down  value with his promise as a blocker and natural pass-catching traits. Overall, Brooks is a springy, balanced athlete with a feel for lane development and the elusive  traits to create his own yardage, both at the line of scrimmage and on the second level. Stylistically, he reminds me of Kenyan Drake, although Brooks has much  better vision and big-play potential (assuming he returns to his pre-injury form). GRADE: 2nd-3rd Round (No. 48 overall)
