Bring Cam back for playoff run?

Terrell Owens just said he can still play and help the niners down by the goal line.  I bet if we bring Cam back we could lure TO as well.  Will be awesome.

This year? I think Cam has made peace with the fact that he is not playing this season. Now depending what happens with our HC, the draft, and free agency in the offseason I could see a possibility where Cam signs next year

I love Cam.  But he is only a backup at best.  Plus it will cause drama in all directions from people trying to get him out there when our QB slips up.  It would make it a circus more than anything else.  But...ticket sales and viewership would skyrocket if he were to start.

Would definitely bring back the buzz around Charlotte and get the fans to show up to the games.

The only reason you sign any football player is to help you win games.

I'm not convinced Cam Newton suits that role right now.

I have.

But we're all on this board for different reasons and I'm just enjoying being a irrational fan at the moment while I work.

Were you not watching last year when we did exactly this? It brought people back for about 1 game then we kept losing and it deflated the whole thing. It wouldn't even go half as well as it did last year, and that's a low bar. Doing it again would make it feel even more like a gimmick.

I can't fathom how this is even still an idea in people's heads.

Yep, I was at that game when Cam returned. Had a blast even though we lost.

Love Cam but he is done as a QB unfortunately.  If he wants to come play TE or specialty sets in goal line or short yardage situations all for it!

You bring him back with the understanding that he's a gadget utility and on a very team friendly deal.

 

He'd make us unstoppable in goal line and 4th and 1 though. If we make the playoffs, worth a thought at least. But no splitting actual QB reps. fug that
