Jake Delhomme is leagues above Sam Darnold.

True, Jake became much better than Sam is today but, the point is that some few do improve with time, experience, coaching and scheme.  Sam may become a capable back up for some team, if he continues to improve.  And Jake if proof that some QB’s that were written off found success later on another team.

And we're not going to compete for SBs unless we get to the playoffs. Your mindset is incredibly boom or bust, and even if you get what you want you have PLENTY of cases like Murray and Texans Watson to show it's not that simple as just get your QB.

The league is boom or bust. There's one SB champs every year and 31 also rans.

Jake’s numbers aren’t all that great but he was a leader. We forget he threw a lot more interceptions than would be acceptable in today’s NFL.

I'm just talking about physical upside.

Fix his brain and you have a weapon

You can't fix his brain. He is what he is. He doesn't see the field like a QB. He sticks on his first read too long and when he comes off of it it's already panic time. He's a panicker and you can't fix it. He doesn't process the info quick enough because he isn't instinctual and he's trying to think his way through it. If you're consciously thinking you're too slow. He's always looked good when everything goes well on the play and his first read is open. That's because he can just rely on his physical talent. But that's not sustainable.

It's usually the afterthoughts who do it. Not former top 10 picks with 50+ starts under their belt. The former never had a chance and had to capitalize when it comes. The latter have had chance after chance because of their talent. They just don't have it.

Exactly! Which is why the goal is "Get to the playoffs".

You don't think it's possible in the realm of infinite possibilities that is the NFL to get a -- not as statistically prolific -- 18' Wentz/Bortles season out of Darnold? The season where he had a great run game, elite o-line and great WRs? Draft someone Robinson out of Texas (yes I know haha HB in the first round but humor me) and use assets to get someone like DHop or Jeudy who likely hit the trade market?  Live with the mistakes and trust your defense?  It's risky but with how absolutely tepid the NFC is right now, who cares what happens in 24 with their adjustments, boom or bust league.

Now that's. Incredibly unlikely. But possible, especially the Bortles part. A lot would need to go right, and honestly I'm still hoping we improve the coaching staff more than anything. But the point being NFL is boom or bust -- but you still have to take advantage of it in the moment. We can't just hope things align like how we'd plan them.

None of the things you said happened Sunday or in any of his starts.

Watch the games and leave arts and crafts to someone else.

You're full of hopium and copium and aren't seeing reality. Our entire offensive game plan is "don't let Sam Darnold throw the game away". That's reality.

You're not winning a SB with Sam Darnold at QB. So you keep swinging.

Bro we're not winning a SB period next season stop capping.

You never answered my question -- Is Mahomes good without Kelce and Hill, and are Kelce and Hill that good without Smith and Reid?

    • I know how it works, most experts aren’t expecting him back either and his Father has already made comments on this and hard rumors are saying he won’t sign because the team won’t do what Necas wants.  I fully expect him to be traded. 100%
    • Could have been a bit worse for the skins if they hadn’t had Cousins. For a 4th. Uhhh Commanders lol.
