Understand Kafka’s stance when you’re full bore on a playoff run, but tough for teams to wait 2 weeks to place their coaching search on a holding pattern when they’ll need to build a staff as well. The only thing that’s working in his favor is that none of the openings have yet been filled.

One of the things that helped Johnson rise to prominence was that he figured out a flaw in some Fangio defensive concepts commonly used around the league.

Pairing an older guy whose defensive concepts are copied everywhere with a younger guy who figured out a way to beat those concepts creates an "iron sharpens iron" situation which I would be absolutely all for.

That does sound like a great balanced prospective combo.

I agree, their offense is different. Johnson’s is much less complex than what Gase ran.

Also, what team that Johnson has been apart of (ever) had success in the NFL?

How many unsuccessful teams was Bill Belichick a part of before the Patriots?

Likewise, Kliff Kingsbury and Sean McVay both coach in the NFC West. Does that make them similar?

Pretty much all of that is a huge reach.

I’m just saying they give me the same vibes I didn’t say he was Gase incarnate. 
 

He’s 36 years old and never been on a team that sniffed success in the NFL. Has called plays for 1 season, and everyone is ready to hand him over the keys because he’s an “offensive guy”.

Well I can actually answer that about Bill Belichick.

1975- Baltimore Colts Playoffs

1978- Denver Broncos-Won division 

1979-1990- Went to the playoffs 6 times and won 2 Super Bowls while in various roles. Also spent time under Parcells. 

1994-Went to the playoff with the Browns as HC

1996- Went to the Super Bowl with the Patriots as DBs coach.

1998- Went to playoffs as Jets DC

So yeah, had some success prior, compared to Ben Johnson hardly sniffing the playoffs.

Tepper should not be dictating to HC candidates who their staff is, he shouldn't even be interviewing coordinator candidates, that should entirely be up to the HC.

It's not like we have a bunch of prototypical 4-3 studs. If we were going to switch, now would be as good of a time as any.

      I did not want to start or even think about *if* BY reverts back to pre-non last 9 games.   There is a lane in which Panthers are looking QB after this season, I feel its higher than most will realize. I mean....not kidding... has any team ever traded up to 1st overall twice in the teams history? I don't even want to think within 3 years, just foresee Tepper squeezing Dans and Brandts sacs to the point were they are forced to trade up for a another savior.....   The kicker is I feel this way with BY playing good-great..... I think there with be non-fixable problems for contract negotiations between BY&reps vs Panthers org on the whole. You can not pay 50+ million per over few years with 70% guarantees for 3,303 yards 15 TDs and 9 INTs......Cursed I tell you....

      It's not surprising, but it's still surprising that many of these guys don't manage their money in such a way that provides them and their families a better lifestyle than most for the rest of their lives without even working a nine-to-five. I can't imagine making over a 100 mil for a decade and ultimately ruminating about supporting my family due to financial issues.

      That why i mentioned the KC dynasty. Those three different playoff loses were not Allens fault, in fact 1-2 plays and Bills win. KC just have better players and better coaches and more luck.  Defense-wise, Bills have been trying to crack the Reid-Halhomes magic. Its near impossible with rules and KC home field advantage. Spags has started to force the league in naming him the best DC in NFL history. I agree if you take away Bill bielacheat.... Add in Andy Reid the best QB coach and brilliant play designer/play-caller, I mean that's too much for one QB to over-come on his own.  Just trolling or not, bad is bad scot. Allen is legit as any one QB has ever been.
